Do any of you remember when you learned a certain word? I remember when I learned "ecstatic." It was when I was reading an ARCHIE comic book, and Veronica was "ecstatic" about a new mini-skirt she was wearing.
I remember learning "ecstatic", too, Kate!
It was in Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Andrews Edwards, when the High-Behind Splintercat fell into some catnip.

Or it's a Latinate word for *ahem* pussy-whipped.This was my favorite line of the day. Thank you, Sherri.:)
Sometimes my students ask me to tell them what certain words mean, and I'm almost always surprised. Today a freshman asked me what "manifest" meant, e.g. "How does the disposition of empathy itself in teacher behavior?" I'm glad she asked. Good kid.
I like the word loquacious! Because that makes it sound much better than motor mouth! And I dont know for sure but I have heard that chalupa is spanish for canoe can any one verify this?
Main Entry: cha·lu·pa

So, maybe not exactly a canoe, but close, Mole.

Jackie, my friend Preston and I got in a long discussion about the difference between burritos and enchiladas.Sometimes meetings can get boring.
I want a torta now.
Oh, I know this one!
Enchiladas are made with corn tortillas coated in a chili sauce, they are enchili-ed.
Burritos are made from flour tortillas, and aren't dipped in a sauce.

I make a hybrid that's like an enchilada but with flour tortillas because I don't like corn tortillas.Maybe I'll call them Enchiltos. Or Burchiladas.
I hate it when people don't know how to say "Fajitas", and it comes out sounding like a venereal disease, speaking of mixing gross conditions and Mexican food, Sheila!
I like watching those thespians do their thing.I've also heard someone pronounce 'tamale' as if it rhymes 'female.' No really. It's true.
Anyone else remember the MST3K episode where they came up with the Pat Morita Fajita? Or the Emperor Hirohito Rito?

Bunny!!Loquacious lugibrious lag*o*morph indeed. It was a hare-raising experience to say the least. Although, technically, not all lag*o*morphs are hares (leporids).
Flopsy leaves her alliteration all over the floor, too. Prodigiously producing pellets of poop. She can (and will) gnaw her way through al-literally anything you place in front of her wiggly little proboscis.
I can never remember the definition of "erstwhile." I always think it should mean something like "constant" or "eternal" instead of "former."

It's the literary version of 'emo'.
