So Ill get us started!
My Name is Shannon, and like I said add me so I can follow all ur reviews :-)
I like to read mostly YA(which is a pretty broad genre now) so ill narrow that one down and say YA/paranormal/adventure/romance, but I have a good collection of Fantasy and Historical fiction as well. Oh and I have also started to love Dystopians!
The book that started me reading (seriously reading) was Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier, which also happens to be my all time favourite book. In fact I reccomend all of Juliet's books! :-)

i dont understand why do u hate twilight???
hiya! i am emily.i read ya and adult paranormal/fantasy, historical fiction and historical romance. i have found that i am drawn more to the paranormal than anything else.
growing up, i absolutely hated reading. i was best friends with cliff notes in high school. but about two years ago, i decided to see what all the hype was about and read twilight....since then, i haven't been able to stop reading! it is my favorite way to relax after my son is asleep.
if there is one book/series that i would absolutely grab if my house was on fire, read on a deserted island and HIGHLY recommend it would be hands down the ICE MOON series by kristy quinn. ice moon and foresaken are wonderfully awesome and have definately changed the way i look at my life.....kinda strange that a YA paranormal series could do that??? well read them and i think you will understand!

Lol I think I can have a go at answering that one!(cause I tell people all the time why I love it and love it not so much) Although Alice definately feel free to contradict me.
First of all, I love Twilight...the books, the movies kinda ruined it for me a little, but ive moved on from that now i think lol.
They are good books, and i read them twice after i first got them (i finished them and then kept thinking about them so i read them again lol) so for a while i was in my own little world where twilight was good, and fantastic and brilliant. But I also hadn't really read anything else in thet genre (plenty of history and literature etc, but not actually much YA or paranormal) so my veiw was limited.
looking back now, there are a few flaws that make the book - for me- not so fantastic as it originally was. Like the fact that Bella ceases to live after Edward leaves her, or the fact that she never fully gets why Edward is in love with her (got a little annoying) and the fact that there isnt really much action! Even the big fight scene had nothing much to it. Although i will concede by saying there were a few good fights in it.
Also people read books differently. So while I may LOVE a book, some else might hate it equally as much.
lol so thats why it lost a few stars when i'd re-read after all the hype was over. Still a good read but also changed slightly as i got older and wiser (ha ha)

my all time favourite book is a series call darkest power by Kelley Armstrong. truth is if my house was burning i would be throwing my books out the window to save them (i might burn trying to save my books :S)
Hi all :) I'm Tammy, I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm a stay at home mom, I have 3 kids, (1 child and 2 dogs) a 7yr boy, and 2, 4 legged kids.
I don't have 1 favorite, I have many favorites, I love The Hollow Series by Jessica Verday, The Secret Circle series by L.J. Smith umm, there are really way too many to list.
I read pretty much anything, but it seems like most of the books on my bookshelves are YA. So like Shannon did I will narrow it down to paranormal, romance, historical and some fantasy.
The book that started me reading there are a few but I think the first one where I was like this is pretty coolwas Another time, Another love by Vivian Schurfranz, Then I picked up Road to Nowhere by Christopher Pike and I was hooked on Paranormal!
If there was a fire and I could only save one book it would be my signed copy of Men of the Otherworld by Kelly Armstrong! mmmm...Werewolves!

me too, I still have reread the books, but I am usually the crazy person yelling at the screen going really thats Emmetts jeep, like they could not find one that matched the discription in the book. and hate me if you will be Rob Pattinson & Kristen Stweart are not Edward Cullen & Bella Swan!
Hey I'm Mikila but hate that so everyone calls me Mickey and has since I could walk =DWhen I was a teen my fave books were crime/horror/mystery but I can't get into those anymore. YA/Paranormal Romance are the way forward. I'm addicted. I have about 12 books that I haven't even picked up to read. I keep ordering more and more and the pile get's bigger =D
First book I ever read was The Lake by Richard Laymon i think. I loved it. Still to this day it's one of the best books. Then I read a book about exchange student love which was called Kit and Robyn i think (long time ago) But then I read Twilight and I can't go back to the old genre =( If I had to grab one book.... maybe one of the Vampire Diaries because I'm completely hooked on those =)

They didn't do anymore after that, but I wish they did 'cause the movie was so good and wasn't supposed to end the way it did.

3. What got you started reading, what was the book that started it all?
