Transfers?

I transfered once, and really I don't see why it's anyone's business, personally, because I don't see why it should matter. For me it was about moving up from a community college to a university with a better program, but that might not be the case for you. I didn't really fit the type of people I was with a the community college. They didn't seem to have the mentality I was looking for in my program of study.I did find my niche at the university, though, because the students I was with were driven to produce good work instead of just getting credits.
I transferred a few years ago. I didn't find it to be that hard, but that might be because I already knew some people at the place I was going, so I already had some friends. I find that the best way to find a niche is to make friends with the people in your classes and see what organizations you might be interested in. I don't blame people for asking why I transferred. Maybe they're just curious to see if another university might be bad or something, especially if it's a place they usually hear good things about. I transferred from the flagship university of my state to one that's relatively unknown, so it makes sense for people to be curious. When people asked me why I transferred I just told them that I liked the program at the new university better, which is true. That seemed to be enough for most people. Of course now I spend way more time explaining to people why I just changed my major than why I transferred, but that's a whole different story.
I transfered three times too. I lost a lot of credit hours that way but I wouldn't change it for anything. Each school gave me new experiences and new friends that I am happy to have. Plus after changing my major something like 6 times between these schools, I feel rather well rounded because I took classes in just about every field and some just for fun. Between my three schools I graduated with just over 180 credit hours total for my undergrad degree. And I still want to go back someday for my masters.
i havent transfered yet but next but next sem i am,, people arevalways asking me why, and keep asking myself why do they care, but for my i just want something more something diffrent that i am not getting now where i am. another thing is im still at home my school is in the next city so its close enough where i can drive back and forth, i feel like im looking over my shoulders everywhere i go, because everyone knows my family, i just need a liitle bit more freedom
I transferred to a massive University after having a bad experience at a small College (both in NY state). I actually came across a lot of people who were nosy and thought crap about me because my boyfriend was transferring from his school to the same University. I had a lot of fun transferring and for those students looking for it theres an Honor Society called Tau Sigma that is exclusively for transfer students. You should check out if it is available at your school. I qualified and joined and it has been a major part of my college experience. I think transfer students have significantly different experiences than traditional students and it was great to bond with others who had been through the same transfer issues as me.
i'm transferring this semester. It's almost nerve wrecking for me cause there's been so many things I have to do, and I now have to commute which is going to be terrible. But i'm hoping that in the end it will be well worth it.i'm hoping i get all kinds of new experiences at this new college, as at the community college where I was before I felt like I wasn't in an environment that allowed me to grow to my fullest potential.
I'm transferring next year from a community college to a large university. I'm so scared and exited! I will definitely look into Tau Sigma. Good luck, ladies!
I am transferring soon and am a bit scared. With the price of University being so high, I am going to have to work and attend at the same time. I am going on a practice run of work/schooling within the coming months. The more I know, the better! For me, I don't really have any connection to the Community College I am currently attending. I transferred here from another Community College because it has all of the requirements to quality for my major and a great teacher for my minor. My old CC had only 1/4 of the courses I needed and a terrible selection of Japanese teachers. So, I switched. There was nothing there to even look forward to or to help me figure out the field I was going to specialize in with my major.
When people ask why I switched, my answer varies. I don't really see a point in telling people who are just poking around for information everything. If it's someone I am familiar with or makes sense in the conversation, I tell them about the classes and crappy teachers.

Oh and what do you say when people ask you why you transferred? I mean why do they even ask that, I feel like whenever I answer I have to give them my whole life story.
