All things Fandom discussion

The Dark Fantasy track is dedicated to books, TV, and films where the heroes are monsters — or they at least have supernatural powers of some sort. Think along the lines of "True Blood," "Being Human (we cover the Syfy version)," and "Dark Shadows." This track has some literary programming, which is all booked up. We also cover Gothic pop culture, a la Tim Burton, classic horror, goth music, and other things.

I hate trying to list names because I don't want to offend anyone by omission. The programming is well-stocked, though, and some of the people who are tentatively scheduled are...

Not yet. Due to the increasing number of guests, as well as confusion over the track's focus, we had to slightly modify the track. As a result, the programming is still in the planning stage and I haven't made a final decision on speakers. While there will definitely be some familiar faces, I don't want to publicly commit to anything just yet.

So, what track is Supernatural in?

But really, thanks for posting the link & participating in the group.

"Supernatural" is handled by the X-Track folks, who were covering it before the Dark Fantasy track existed. I guess the way to look at it (in a very, very loose way) is that X-Track spotlights the investigators, and Dark Fantasy spotlights the monsters ;)

As for panelists, I'm reluctant to post that information publicly because it's dependent on guest approval. I also don't want someone to get their hopes up based on a certain name, because this stuff, even now, is subject to change.

I will say that I am overall pretty happy with how it looks to be shaking out. It manages to stay focused (for the most part) while still having variety when it comes to speakers.

OK, glad I asked, 'cause I wouldn't have guessed that.

I know, I'm just impatient. I am glad for what you have given us, it is much more than some tracks.

I would have loved to have been offered "Supernatural," but between "True Blood" and "Being Human," not to mention some of the author guests, we'll be plenty busy. Leigh, who runs X-Track, is one of my favorite people "in-house," and I have no doubt that fans of "Supernatural" are in good hands.

And of course, it's still tentative. Always verify events with the Dragon*Con pocket program when it becomes available closer to the show date.

For anyone curious, TBA doesn't mean I am currently looking for speakers. I'm just waiting on a couple of things.
