Anyone read this one? I had never heard of it until this last winter when someone recommended it to me. It took just a few hours to read. It is a 'juvenile' lit book, but it was amazing! I got some of her other books too, but haven't read them yet. I love the way she slowly opens our eyes to the evil of that world. It seems nice and easy at first, then (spoiler alert) we realize his dad actually kills babies - with the full encouragement ans support of society.

Kim | 1 comments I've read The Giver and loved it! It has been a while since I've read it and i have been meaning to read it again, but it was the book that got me into dystopian reads. It was so interesting to see the boy see all the evil in his society. I also found it interesting that they did not see in color, whats so bad about color that the society had to see in black and white??

I was wondering about the color issue too. I think it is a way for those in charge to keep people from enjoying themselves too much (also the absence of sex). If you see some beauty, you may want more?
