new_user | 755 comments Okay, I just watched this on Jan's recommendation. It's wild. I'm liking it. Sarcastic dialogue and interesting characters. You don't see a lot of X-Men stories starring juvenile delinquents, LOL. It's available on Youtube if anyone's interested.

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments Yay! I adore this series.
These people should not have superpowers, mainly because they're young and a bit deranged, but mostly because they are all at least slightly stupid.

But I love how it's a story about what happens when normal (as in, not good, not bad, but somewhere in between), get powers.

Also, I found it insanely funny.

new_user | 755 comments Yeah, it's very funny! And it's interesting how all the powers relate to their inner desires/personalities. It's more contemporary/morality tale -if you can call it that with all the cussing, amorality, etc., LOL- than SF. Reminds me of the anime Petshop of Horrors where everyone gets their just desserts. But I heard that Robert Sheehan isn't returning for season three. I'm a little worried about that. He's sort of the main character, isn't he? And he has the best lines.

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments What??? NOOOOOOO. I didn't know that yet. That's such a shame, because I think he was my favorite character. Also, he's delicious.

I always thought it was great how the powers tied into who they were during the storm (Spoiler for the Christmas Special of S2, aka the last episode: (view spoiler).

new_user | 755 comments LOL. He's cute in his unique way. Really an a-hole, but for his age, that's not surprising, LOL. His crudeness/pettiness makes for good dialogue. The rest are sort of scared/generic sheep... so I don't know if they can carry the show. Although I do like Kelly, accent and all. I'm still getting my head around this "chav" idea. A poor accent, pulling one's hair back and wearing hoop earrings is all it takes. Lot of intolerance, it seems.

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments Kelly is awesome as well. I think I dressed up as a Chav once... It's a very British thing, and I don't completely get it either. I think (but I'm not sure) it also has to do with what sort of neighbourhood you come from (and maybe the kind of music you listen to?). I always thought it was similar to white trash from the states, but again, not entirely sure.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 1 comments I adore Misfits. It's one of the few TV shows made by my fellow citizens that I never miss. Yes, a chav = white trash. Kelly being a chavette also sports the Croydon facelift (hairstyle). If you've ever seen Little Britain -Vicky Pollard = Chav.
