I enjoyed Jasper Fforde's Eyre Affair. Thursday Next works as a special ops agent in literary detection in an alternate 1985 Great Britain. She is hunting after someone who is killing off literary characters in famous works of literature and transports herself into these books. I wouldn't classify it as your typical time travel book though.

I know many people who love Doomsday Book. I read it many years ago and wasn't crazy about it. Maybe I should read it again and see if I have a different opinion.

I'm not a big time travel reader it is usually incidental to the story. Probably the last thing I read that included time travel was Prada and Prejudice by Mandy Hubbard a fun YA loose retelling of Pride and Prejudice.
Has anyone read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger? I keep playing with the idea of reading it.

I have read the Time Traveler's Wife and I loved it. However, I didn't like the movie at all. I am not into reading time travel books but this one really kept my attention.

I read A Wrinkle in Time in 5th grade also. Definitely one of my favorites.

I gave it 50 pages and it was too creepy. I love time travel stories, but this one left me cold.

Me too, Staci. Best book ever. It holds up even reading it as an adult.

In my book club we have one man and several women. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and we had a good discussion.

There was a movie with Campbell Scott that I loved. He buys a desk from the Civil War and corresponds with Jennifer Jason Leigh who is in that time. Sappy, but again the theme of love has no time boundaries.
