I had a hard time getting the book from the library, they didn't have it and had to request it from another library. I'm still waiting, so I've cancelled the request. How about "Most Beautiful Princess" by Chrisina Croft
or something by Robert Massie?

How about From Splendor to Revolution: The Romanov Women, 1847-1928 by Julia Gelardi has anyone in the group read it or has it been listed before? My only problem is that I am having difficulty obtaining a copy as my favourite and most helpful bookshop is closing down.
Great suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming and hopefully I'll have a list to vote on by next week.
I will be taking more suggestions through the end of today (Monday) and will post a poll for voting tomorrow, to end on Friday. Thanks all!
Announcement: Looks like The Lost Crown is in the lead. The author has offered to participate in any discussion we have on Goodreads, so we'll see if that's our next read come Friday!
I'm currently reading The Lost Crown and have added all of the choices to my list, so I'm excited about whatever the choice is!
Boo, I just went to the Walden by my office (big going out of business sale) and they didn't have The Lost Crown in stock...
Since the day is drawing to a close, I think it's safe to announce that the August/September Group Read will be The Lost Crown: A Novel of Romanov Russia, which is fabulous, because they author had offered to participate in our discussion!
Have a great weekend everyone. I'll let you know if I have any interesting Romanov finds when I go book shopping at HPB...

When will Ms. Miller be available for our discussion? I would love to hear how she decided to write the book in the manner chosen. I love the idea of each sisters' viewpoint.
I think we should wait a week or two until we get confirmation from other members that they have aqcuired and read the book and are ready for discussion. I don't want to start a discussion that may include spoilers, but there's no reason we couldn't ask questions about her motives or her writing process. I'll see what I can do in the next few days. In the meantime, can I get feedback from my other members to see where they are in the book, if they've begun? I'm just getting started today...
I'll check back tomorrow to see what kind of other responses we have and start a new discussion inviting Sarah. So have those questions ready!
