Kate and I have been talking about doing some more fun stuff on the blog, but it's not as interactive to keep it on the blog, so we have decided to create a Goodreads group. We plan on having some fun stuff, including a monthly read-a-long, which you can vote for your choice in the polls.

I will also be taking suggestions for our first challenge soon as well. So, glad you have joined us and hope you have a lot of fun on here!

Colleen Hi I'm Colleen:), I don't do well with reading challenges because I'm a finicky reader. I read according to how I'm feeling that particular moment.

But, by way of suggestion, you can set up a section for book trailers. Everyone loves book trailers.

Jacalyn | 73 comments Great idea! I've been super busy and so have been less interactive on goodreads groups, but I enjoy challenges! Anything to help me burn through this giant pile of over 250 books. :) Or you know... make saidpile of books worse. :)

Yay! Glad to have you Lady Ozma! My pile will never get smaller it seems... :)

message 17: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 73 comments Glad I"m not alone in that. I've been stuck at somewhere between 225-275 for 3 years. Ack!

message 18: by Babs (new)

Babs (babsbookbistro) Lady Ozma you are not alone my tbr pile will never go down :)

Jacalyn | 73 comments Who votes we need a book reading retreat????

Then again, we'd probably just swap the books we finish and end up with stacks three times as big! LOL

message 20: by Babs (new)

Babs (babsbookbistro) You are right our stacks would get higher, but think of the fun we would have :).

message 21: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 73 comments It would be so much fun, for sure! And hmmm, maybe we could survive the book stacks getting higher. Just a reason to live longer. Who can die with all these unfinished books, right? I figure at the rate I'm going, I will live to be 347.

Only 347? I am figuring at least 1000. You have to imagine factoring in all the other books that will be released as we get older.

message 23: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 73 comments I'm too afraid to contemplate that. Besides, I figure at some point we'll be able to jack those books right into our brains, greatly speeding up the reading process. Imagine, 8 hours of sleep turns into dreaming the latest book. Multitasking at its finest! :)

THat would be awesome. Or be able to read at Superman's speed. I need a room like in the book The Witchy Worries of Abbie Adams. It stops all time and the girl in the book is forced to go in there to do all of her homework. I'd love to sit in there and read a books. Days would just be longer. :)

message 25: by Jacalyn (new)

Jacalyn | 73 comments Wow, that would be cool, too. :) Though I still like the taking advantage of sleeping hours. It's like listening to an audiobook when driving. You take something that is normally a huge chunk of not being able to read time and turn it into reading time! :)

Yes! I <3 audiobooks. It makes doing dishes, working out and cleaning all the more fun.

message 27: by Laima (new)

Laima Thanks for the invitation Kristen. I love to read but don't have a lot of time right now - more time in Sept when my kids are off to University - YEAH!!!!
