Maximum Ride Petition discussion

((Still, they haven't been messed up THAT much. I mean sure, the action-adventure and plot was better in the first few books, but global warming is important. Isn't there a way to get James Patterson to keep up the action but leave the message?))
((And by the way people, if you think he got PAID to write about global warming, I highly doubt it. It is not that kind of issue. I mean, he did mess up the books a bit, but if certain people who have posted knew much about global warming, they would not be asking "did he get paid extra to write about global warming?". Seriously, I agree that Patterson screwed up the books, but that does not mean that he should stop attempting to spread awareness of global warming, although the effort was certainly wasted on certain people.
((Yeah. He should make a little after note about Global Warming, because Global Warming isn't the right thing to put in that kind of story.))
Kenzie(Okay, so I'm going to leave this group, because I don't think it's right. I have to tell you something.
James Patterson made the Maximum Ride books into individual parts. Book 1, 2, and 3 are about defeating the school.
Book 4, 5, (6? if he makes one) are all focusing on Global Warming.
He decided to write some books that focus' on something important to him: Global Warming. I don't think he wanted to start a new series, so he used an old one to spread his message.
Personally, I don't like his new ideas. Including his new book, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X. My friend, Sarah, bought it and said it was the worst book she has ever read that he wrote.
Just thought you guys would like to know.)
(I have read the first one then skipped to 4 cause l couldn't find rest and it sucked! So do l still count?)Lye
Snow ((btw, i dont think he messed up the books totally guys! yes, action was a bit lacking, but i really enjoyed it anyhow. i read for the individual book, not the series, so maybe all you whiners in here should try that approach, it worked for me! and srry if i offended you by calling you a whiner, but its true *forever ignores group because only signed up to get more action into MR 5 and 6*))
I couldn't agree more enough with global warming and trying to make a political statement in a young adult book!!! Double *Gasp*
i really loved maximum ride...but after that all the books in that series got lamer and lamer, almost as if James was not the author. Totally not up to par. I am a huge James Patterson fan and also hugely dissappointed!!
((hey, snow, in my review I said that if it were the first book in a series i would have given it 4 stars. becuz, shes right, if you just think about it like that, and ignore the rest of the books, its a good book.))
((i liked it, it just wasnt as good as the rest of them. as a patterson book, it was still rather decent. but hey, im a book worm that reads anything with words, so... ^^))
Haley! I am for this all the way! The first 2 and about the 1/2 of the 3rd on were good, but the stupid global warming and "save the planet from garbage, Max" stuff is really getting on my nerves. I waited for The final warning for about 10 months on a library hold list, only to read it and to find out that is sucks! that really made my day bad. i gave it a 3 stars, but taht was really generous of me! Everyone! go onto

... im struggling not to completely lose my temper at the moment. out of all the books ive EVER read, ive only read a FEW that i absolutely despise. i only picked one of them. so max has decided to go save the environment. maybe if people cared more about it, patterson wouldnt be writing about it. and i dont think you should say that the new ones suck. theyre just not what you were expecting, so you dont like it. trust me, i can understand that view.
yes, the fourth one was REALLY cheezy. Practically the only reason i read them is because of Max and Fang; i want them to finally stay together then i will probably quit the series..or maybe not. I decided that if the 5th one, Water Wings, has all the global warming stuff *Max, go save the enviroment* in it, i won't even read it, and i will give up on the series...entirely!! Now, who will do the same??And YES, DANIEL X is about the worst book i have read in all 13 years i have been reading!!! (that means it REALLY SUCKED)
JAMES PATTERSON, THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING!
i will NOT give up on max ride. srry, im a die-hard book lover. only one book i ever CHOSE to read that i didnt like. *sigh* and i STILL hvnt read daniel x... oh well. i'll get around to it... eventually... and im pretty sure that water wings is going to be about helping the environment too. again. if people cared more about the environment, maybe petterson wouldnt be writing about it.
I didn't get past to 2nd chapter on daniel X, and i am like the world's biggest book lover ever. I think of myself as Meggie in Inkheart when it comes to book loving. =)I really dont expect anyone else to give up reading Max Ride, because i might fall back into reading them myselfs, but if he stops having Max go and saving the earth and not the world, i wont read any futhur for a while..too bad patterson, he kinda got me sick of his books
like i sed: ive only picked to read one book that i didnt like. and i hvnt read the inkheart books yet... i started to, but couldnt get into it rlly quick, and my sister wanted it back. i dont think there's anything patterson could do to make me stop reading max... read Double Cross by him, that one's pretty good. course, its in the adult section of the library, but i think thats just kinda... violence. not swearing or "content" so i wouldnt mind handing it to my 11 yr old sister.
i am running out of totally awesome books, so i have been dumping a few uninteresting books lately. the inkheart trilogy and Artemis fowl are like the best things ever!
hmm... good books? try The House of Night books. they r SO good, its ridiculous! they're about vampyres, but not normal vampires... and yes, i know i just spelled that 2 diff ways. but seriously though, you should read them! uh... P.C. Cast and Kirsten Cast are the authors, I think. if ur not into vampyres/vampires, then try... Diana Gabaldon's Outlander is prety good... its time-travel/romance. that one is the first in a series that i hv yet to finish XD
Rachel
i appreciate the fact that a well-known author is trying 2 raise awareness about global warming. i do not appreciate that ruining an amazing story.
