I am Laura. I was brought up in an American-Irish family and have been interested in all things Irish since I was quite young. Just finished the Dubliners by James Joyce for maybe the fourth time. Still brilliant. I am interested in what people's favorite Irish writers are past and present.

Dubliners is brilliant and I've read it a few thimes. I flagged on Ulysses though.Irish writers I love include:Synge, J. M. (John Millington), Yeats William B., Niall Williams, Edna O'Brien, Colm Tóibín
Welcome, Laura.
One novel I always recommend is Strumpet City by James Plunkett. It deals with poverty in Ireland, specifically Dublin, during the turn of the last century. I highly recommend this book.
