I just posted the series in the series folder. I love her, too, and am planning a reread shortly, in anticipation of the new book coming out in October.

So this will be your third reread or your fourth?
Is October the release date of Initiate's Trial for the US too? Amazon doesn't have a firm date listed for it yet.

Third complete, I believe. I ordered mine from the Book Depository who ship worldwide without postage! And will get it on or around Oct. 27th. US official release date isn't 'til January. :(

Janny is another Goodreads find for me. She's very active on Goodreads and is in several groups that I'm in as well. Part of the reason why I started reading her books was her interactions on Goodreads. She is so accessible and willing to talk to readers about her own books and gives great recommendations if you ask her for it. Not only that, but I think she is one amazing woman. She not only writes books, but also is a very accomplished artist, equestrian, sailor, musician, etc.
Her stories and experiences that I have read about on Goodreads absolutely inspire me to do better and become a better person. Maybe she'll wander into this group someday and the rest of you can get to know her as well.
As for her books: they are some of the most beautiful, poetic, and thought-provoking books I've ever read. (That's a lot of books to compare it to, btw.) Her style takes a little bit to get used to because she doesn't dumb it down. Her books are a vocabularist's dream and a school kid's nightmare (they'd remember all those vocab tests they have to take). Not only does she use all those big words, but she says they just float around in her head. She doesn't have to look them up. Pretty impressive in my book.
Her big series, the Wars of Light and Shadow, which starts with
The Curse of the Mistwraith, is a gripping story of two brothers in the wonderful world of Athera. This is an on-going series, so I don't know how the overall arc ends yet. So far these books have not only provided an entertaining and inspiring read, but they have also made me look closer at my own life and the world around me.
Janny Wurts truly is one of those authors who will continue to inspire me for a very long time.
