Old Republic: Deceived

I was equally disappointed by both Deceived and Fatal Alliance. I wanted to like both so badly, and even managed to cling to the few redeeming qualities of Fatal Alliance for a few days after reading it, but ultimately both books were extremely underwhelming.I will not say that Deceived will be my last Old Republic novel, as I'm holding out hope that Revan by Drew Karpyshyn will be worth reading. Its by the same author that wrote the Darth Bane books, as well as having been writing director on the original Knights of the Old Republic. Don't give up hope!
If he somehow manages to botch Revan's story, however, I'm done. :P
If you want something to be done about it, you should express your displeasure with their quality directly to the one investing the money - the publisher.Random House, Inc.

Probably a mistype, but I'll correct you to LucasBooks being over novels. LucasArts is over videogames. I believe that if Random House sees a rise in customers having a problem with content, they will take that to LucasBooks in a more serious manner than Sue Rostoni would take it hearing that someone liked Thrawn Trilogy better than X.
As for people buying bad books, I attribute James Luceno's continued contracts to the fact that he keeps being given Darth books when we're starving for dark side stuff. He comes up with a good short story or novella-length idea, gets a novel contract, pads it out to hit the pages needed, it's crap, it sells anyway because it says Darth, then people get turned off to Star Wars novels due to an apparent lack of quality control. Numbers were big, so when he walks in with another idea that would be a good novella, they give him another novel contract.
I don't know about specific sales numbers, but the New York Times does a list sorted by sales numbers.

Knight Errant (other topics)Path of Destruction (other topics)

1.Aryn's revenge plot was poorly explained
2.Darth Malgus and Eleena enough said
3.I actually thought Z Man's characterization was done well.
Fatal Alliance frustrates me a lot more than Deceived because it had so much potential.
1.The Tech
2.the battle between Shigar and Eldon was amazing.
3.Shigar,Eldon, and Larin's fight against the tech was one of the best battles I have personally read in a Star Wars novel.
everything else about the novel was horrible, and it had a cliffhanger ending.
If you want good old republic stuff read
1.Path of Destruction
2.Knight Errant
