Stephen King recommended author. He says: "BEST OUTRIGHT HORROR NOVELIST. Bentley Little, in a walk. Don't know Bentley Little? You're not alone. He's probably the genre's best-kept secret, but at least 10 of his novels are available in paperback; you can pick up three for the price of that flashy new hardcover you've got your eye on. The best thing about Little is that he can go from zero to surreal in 6.0 seconds. My favorites are The Store (think Wal-Mart run by SAYYY-tan) and Dispatch, in which a young fellow discovers that his letters to the editor actually get things done. Bad things."

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) I've read two by him, The Revelation The Revelation by Bentley Little (picked up at the dollar store, due to SK's glowing recommendation on the cover) which was good and schlocky, if sort of really gross at times, and also The Walking The Walking by Bentley Little , which was not so good. I've heard from people in other groups though that I didn't pick up his best examples, and that I should try some others, namely The Store and Dispatch, which seems to be nearly unanimously voted (at least from all the people I've heard from about it) as his best.

Those 2 seem to be ones King likes the best, Kit.

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 598 comments I have heard really good things about Bentley Little, but I am a hard back purchaser and not a paperback purchaser, I guess I need to look for them as an ebook.

Yes, it seems all his books are paperbacks. I'm a hardcover collector, too, Linda.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) Me too, hardcover-lover! Almost all my keep-forever books are HB, I like them way better than PBs.

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 598 comments That is one reason that I bought a Nook, for those books that I cannot get in hardback, I will just download the ebook version - if I can find it!!!

Kilgallen | 3 comments I have read both The Store and The Associaton and both were really good reads. I think what I like best about Bently Little's books is the way he takes things that are a part of everyday life and gives them that good old horrific twist. Fun reads!

Murray Munro I am really enjoying The Haunted. This is my first Bentley book..and so enjoying it. Little graphic in the early part.

Hi Kilgallen and Murray! Little does get graphic, at least he did in the store. Shocking stuff. But I enjoyed it very much. Will be reading more of his stuff!
