Laurie R. King's first Mary Russell book! I'm going to be making a folder just for these books since they seems so popular. Looking forward to it!

I had already read this once before but I did give it a refresher browse.

When I first found it at the library I was hesitant to read it because I do tend to play the purist but I loved this book especially Holmes's and Russel's first meeting.

I am now on the 100th or something page and it is really starting to grow on me. I was resistant at first but I think I understand it better now.

I'm so excited you're liking it. I don't think there is a series I love more than Mary Russell.

I've finished! I'm not gonna lie; that was a bit of a slog for me. I didn't like it that much better than before but I can totally understand other people liking it. I've got certain pet peeves, and it just seems like this hits it every page. But not all hope is lost! I am intrigued enough to try the second one.

I was put off by the premise of the age thing - creepy ! No I disliked the whole because of my aversion to the idea of the author vicariously living her fantasy via her character - do your research before destroying beloved characters. I will not be reading anymore of this series.
