Deanne wrote: "Sam, spent a few hours at work discussing Sun Tzu, obscure conversations at 3am."That's the best time for obscure conversations I find, I've been on many a night survey which has led to many a random conversation :-)
19. Romania - Dracula Was a Woman: In Search of the Blood Countess of Transylvania by Raymond T. McNally - finished 14/09/11, 3*

26. Democratic Republic of the Congo - The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver - finished 03/12/11, 3*
Ian wrote: "I've got no 26 on my kindle. Other than 3 stars what did you think Sam?"It was quite a good read and was well written with plenty going on although it did take a little while to get into and it does raise a lot of moral and ethical questions. It's definitely a book that makes you think.
27. Sweden - Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg - finished 07/12/11, 4*28. Italy - A Room With a View by E.M. Forster - finished 10/12/11, 3*
29. Japan - The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection From the Living Dead by Max Brooks - finished 04/01/12, 5*
Ian wrote: "Wow Sam - Zombies followed by Man-eaters.....bloody start to the year"Says a lot about my state of mind really doesn't it, I'm now reading The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements, which has some interesting discussions about very powerful acids and bases...uhmmm maybe I need to speak to someone...
31. Greece - The Theban Plays: King Oedipus / Oedipus at Colonus / Antigone by Sophocles - finished 09/02/12, 3*
Ian wrote: "I think I'd need some acid to read Sophocles. Reminds me of classics at school."Luckily we never did any such classics in school, good ol' Welsh education ;-)
Ian wrote: "I had to do Latin.......hated it"Ooooo ouch, think we had Welsh instead which I'm such is much easier...still didn't enjoy it much though but wish I'd paid more attention now. Although with my line of work Latin would be useful too (damn species names...)
I was made to study Welsh, French and German. Hated them then it would really love to be able to speak a bit now.
Dave wrote: "I was made to study Welsh, French and German. But we got to do Russian for a year as well and I loved that, it was so easy to pick up and had none of the feminine/masculine variations that other languages have. Really wish I could've taken that forward but it clashed with other subjects I needed to do when it came to GSCE choices.
Dave wrote: "Oh Russian sounds interesting - doesn't it have a different alphabet, Cyrillic?"It does and yes it is a form of Cyrillic. I think that's why it was a bit easier to get to grips with because it was so different from English so I didn't get muddled up so much :-)
33. Central African Republic - Deep Jungle: Travel to the Heart of the Rainforest by Fred Pearce - finished 12/07/12, 4*
34. Antartica - On Extinction: How We Became Estranged from Nature by Melanie Challenger - finished 19/07/12, 2*
Seems I've missed a couple:35. Scotland - The Eagle Of The Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff - finished 24/12/11
36. Sierra Leone - Diamonds Are Forever by Ian Fleming - finished 20/12/12
Sorry Sam, you can't have the UK - no 36 - as well as the constituent countries of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland......thought it was just a brainstorm and you meant Wales but you've already done Wales, so it's just not to be.
37. India - Monster of God: The Man-Eating Predator in the Jungles of History and the Mind by David Quammen - finished 04/02/13
