I know other people have different opinions about Shay and Ren but I just think that Calla would always come first to Shay but might come second to Ren. Sooooo SHAY ALL THE WAY!!!

I'm going to be the first Team Ren on this discussion than :P

I feel like Ren is completely devoted to Calla we just haven't seen her interact with Ren like she has with Shay. I think if she spent hours studying with Ren and they were alone in a giant mansion with no one around where they have all the time in the world to talk without being around the Elders, we would have learned alot more about Ren and Calla's emotional relationship.

Shay, definitely.
But Calla needs to stick to her choices and not be so indecisive.

I am Team Ren. After Wolfsbane, I like Shay a tiny bit more but in the end, I'm with Ren.

I'm with you! Usually I know who I love but both Ren and Shay are so hot and sweet and I just can't choose! I think she will end up with Shay though after reading this book.

I think she states that she does in that first chapter but I think she says something like: "I love him in a different way than Shay..."

Yes I definitely think she has love for both of them but just loves them differently. Ren is hot and she feels for him but she is just mourning what could have been but was never really her choice. She says in Bloodrose chapter 1 that Shay is the only one she had told she loves and that she doesn't want that to change. I really love both guys myself but I'm thinking she has already sacrificed everything for Shay so she will probably end up with him. But Ren is major hottie too lol and he is sweet deep down.

Yeah, I agree with what you've all said really! But there's a video on youtube about bloodrose by Andrea Cremer and she said:
'People often ask me if Calla will choose Ren or Shay' and then she said something like 'Calla's the type of girl who might choose neither and go off on her own' and then she said 'there's a scene with Ren in a towel, and JUST a towel' Ren isnt for her even tho hes hot!

I'm with Tammy (message 8) and Jennifer (message 9)threesome if you can't decide!!!I don't always know which guy i think the girl should pick or which one i like by the first book, but by the second book i do, not with this book.I start saying Shay he is the only one, then i change to Calla can't live with out Ren he and Calla has something, but so do Calla and Shay.I hope by book #3 i can decide!!!

I agree. When she was with Ren she kept thinking about Shay, when she was with Shay she kept thinking about Ren. Just make up your mind! She reminded me a bit of Faythe, which irked me. (I think Faythe is one the worst heroines out there).
Calla is confused, she's been brainwashed her entire life and it was ingrained in her that she was meant to be with Ren. She cares for him and feels guilty about her feelings for Shay.(view spoiler)[ The end of Wolfsbane was so predictable when she says she can never leave Ren behind, even if has to sacrifice herself. Whatever. I knew it was coming. I knew she would want to stay with Ren out of guilt.
At first I didn't like Shay because I thought Calla and Ren had a real connection and he was just annoying. But then, I got to know Ren better and the dynamics of his relationship with Calla and I realized he was a jerk. I'm not denying he has feelings for her and the way he was raised didn't help him either but still, I think Shay is better for Calla, he will always put her first. Besides, Ren had a choice and he choose to betray Calla. That says a lot about his character. He is weak. (hide spoiler)]

I have to disagree. Bones would have never betrayed Kat. If anything, Shay is more like Bones. He was the one who opened Calla's eyes like Bones did with Kat.

well, we have our different opinions about wolfsbane so we just have to wait for Bloodrose to really know who would Calla pick :)

When I recomended Nightshade to a friend, I desribed it as one of the best love triangles I've ever read. I had absolutely no idea who I wanted Cal to be with. For the first time ever, I was Team Undecided. After reading Wolfsbane, I'm happy to report that round two goes to Shay :-)

I can't help but think that the strong feelings Calla has for Ren are supported by the bond between mates.

Exactly! Ren had a choice and he chose the Keepers. Very douchebag moment for him there. He lost major points in my book.
Calla doesn't even understand why she feels the way she feels about Ren when she knows she loves Shay. If the first chapter of Bloodrose is any indication, Ren doesn't stand a chance. However, it will be interesting to see what is going to happen in relation to the hierarchy of the pack with Ren back in the picture. There will be two male alphas, that doesn't bode well. I just hope Andrea doesn't spend the entire book with Calla struggling to decide who she wants. Honestly I would expect a female alpha to be more decisive and not that sentimental. Her guilt trips are getting old.

That is a good theory. I didn't understand why was she still wearing the ring after everything that happened in Eden and the fact that she finally chose Shay. I can totally see Ren pulling something like that, asking for an enchanted ring to make sure Calla only had eyes for him after the union.

Maybe Ren doesn't know about it either - and I don't think he would've raped Calla - there was indecision there - it might have been the last straw for him - or maybe he's been enchanted somehow too....

Maybe, but I can see him in an act of desperation, asking Logan to enchant the ring. I mean, he did disappear for two days before the union. Also, even if he wasn't going through with the rape, there was intention there. That is what matters to me. He wanted to hurt her because she hurt him. And, I don't think he was enchanted.
Honestly, Calla will not be able to fully commit to Shay if she keeps having the guilty trips in relation to Ren. So, I think he must really disappoint her in order for her to forget him completely. I know that there are a lot of Ren fans out there, but I honestly don't see Calla ending up with him. I don't even think she loves him. Her feelings are more wrapped in duty and guilt. She feels responsible for everything bad that happened to her pack after she ran away, and she doesn't have the heart to break things off completely with Ren.

I don't think the rape was hurting her. The Keepers could have made it so, that at that moment, Calla could have gotten pregnant. Thennnnn she would HAVE to be stuck with Ren (or so he/the Keepers thought)...

I love Ren as I think Shay knows more than he is letting on about his past and who he really is...and Shay also knew what he was doing by sleeping with Calla...I feel he is not so innocent in all of this...as for Calla being indecisive it wouldn't bother me at all if in the end she chose herself over...go Team Calla...lol but deep down I think Ren is a much better match for Calla...that first chapter in Bloodrose has got me hot and bothered whereas her intimate scenes with Shay did nothing for me..

I like Shay better, although I love ren and I don't feel a huge fire between calla and Shay like i do with her and ren but Ren's betrayal just knocked him down so many notches. Hopefully she'll be able to save him still and he'll find somebody else

On another note I absolutely LOVE Conner, he was so funny.
& and I really hope Sabine and Ethan get together their relationship has started off very strong to me

I think it will happen. But it's kind of funny that the romantic relationships in this series happen almost immediately. Ethan and Sabine look at each other and suddenly they are in love? The same thing that happened with Shay and Calla.

REN!!!! Oh god i hope she picks Ren... Although after this book i like Shay a bit more... still nothing like Ren... I think they just fit. But i personally think in the end she will be with shay even if i think it sucks lol.

lol i agree with you... shay doesnt do much for me either but when calla is with ren....it heats up

Yea Bones didn't betray Kat but he's far from Shay. And come on Calla was doing all the betraying to be honest.

i think i am team ren but i love them both.
i'm going with ren bc he is devoted not only to calla but also to pack. i think shay is just devoted to calla.

You can read the first Chapter on the series' main website. At least, I think that's where I read mine :P

If not, just search "Bloodrose Chapter One" or something along those lines. You'll find it :)

I'm team REN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just love Ren and i totally hate everything that has to do with Shay. He gets soooooo annoying with Calla and he keeps forgetting that Thanks to Ren they were able to escape the Keepers. I honestly hope that Calla and Ren end up together but i don't know if that's going to happen. I can understand why Ren decided to stay with the Keepers instead of going with Calla. He is really hurt because Calla left the day of their Union. Come on who wouldn't be upset????? Plus the Keepers i think brainwashed Ren also. I'm crossing my fingers for Calla and Ren otherwise, I'm going to be upset.

I thought Shay at first. Now I'm not sure.
