Notice any interesting or unusual or humorous book shelf names?

I saw a few yesterday but one stood out and I had mixed feelings about it. It was kind of funny but sad that they felt that way.

I've seen some really nifty shelf names. Shawna has a lot of great shelves, in particular.

I mostly steal other people's bookshelf names. I think I stole "I-am-a-bookcover-ho" from Shawna. Lady D is right, they are pretty funny. One of the few I came up on my own was for older woman/younger man named "mrs-robinson". I've thought of adding some of willaful's. I can't remember who has the "head-banger", but I may have to add that too. Oh, it was her - entitled "fabulous-wall-banger". But wait, maybe she means something else, LOL!

I love bookshelf names, but I'm always afraid to get too creative with them. What if I forget what they stand for?

I'm not sure who I pulled it from, but I really like 'Tupping a duke'. And I think 'hot hero award' was borrowed from someone else's bookshelf.

lol love the tupping a duke! Love all of them. I may have to rename a few of mine to be more creative. I like my habanero shelf for my hot stuff.

I saw your Mrs Robinson shelf, Lisa. I like it a lot. You both have some good shelves, Lisa and Nisha.

I like Pamela's "desert-island-keeper" - that one is pretty self-explanatory.

Hey just discovered something. If you go into explore and then hit genres on the right hand side and type in shelf name. Then you can add a description of what that shelf is. Cool, eh?

Lisa what does "one foot on the floor mean? I am old and never heard of it ... I think.

"One-foot-on-the-floor" comes from an old movie term. Back when the censors insisted that married couples had to have separate beds, during a love scene (for any couple, married or not) one person had to keep one foot on the floor at all times. Hollywood got quite inventive on the choreography for that, LOL! Some of Cary Grant’s movies are the funniest as he would flip and turn around and still maintain one foot on the floor.

In most cases it means no explicit sexual scenes, or even none.

LOL ..... Oh I see.... I remember the separate beds, I didn't know the name for it. Well we certainly have come a long way...... I miss the old days even with the separate beds..... I could always use my imagination ....... lol

I think there have been several people who have tried to see if "it" can still be done when one partner has one foot on the floor, LOL!

lol. I've heard the term but its only been within the last few years when I heard it. I love Cary Grant movies!

I'll have to check out ur shelf and see if there is anything my mom might like. She reads mostly christian romance but also ventures out occasionally if its clean.

well, the dukes are a special case. There are so many of them that I think they deserve their own shelf.

I just made me a shelf called file 13

I don't have any books on it yet, though. For those who aren't familiar with military jargon, file 13 refers to the trash can. So it will be a shelf for books I did not finish.

Does anyone know of any clever new bookshelf names?? I have a list for my phone, so I don't have to log into my profile here - LOL - and I'm trying to find/figure out some clever names for my various shelves. Like, you know instead of Reading Now, Want to Read, Read... want some cooler ones (and still know what that shelf name means, lol) Any help would be very much appreciated! :)

How 'bout movie theme - Now Playing, Coming Soon...?

I had a shelf called "covers that embarrass me". But i deleted it the other day because i had fallen behind and felt like there was just too many, lol.

Hmmm.... Now Playing I could use in place of Reading Now, I guess.! :) But what about Coming Soon?? Idk what that would signify as, as far as a bookshelf. Lol

I also had created shelves named Own and Read, Own but not Read, and Read but don't Own.... got any other cool names for these shelves, too Pamela? :) lol

I have a keeper shelf for books I own and read. I also put in my notes if I borrowed from the library. So maybe a library shelf? That's about it on those.

I wanna find a simple library bookshelf app where I can store all my books and categorize them how I want them to be. Do you have any ideas?

I just installed a ton of book catalog/list apps on my phone! Wish me luck I find the best one to do what I wanna do.! :)

I found a really good app for my phone! The only downfall is it doesn't let you search by book title, only by barcode or create a book, which I don't like cuz then you won't get the book's front cover.
