Wicked ♥ (Wickedly Bookish Reviews) aka Bat-Jess | 3 comments Hey everyone! Glad to be here. I recently did an author interview with Joel at my blog Wickedly Bookish. He answers some good questions about Shrouded Secrets, no spoilers so no worries! Come check it out!

@Cinderela right now I'm reading Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh The Demon Lover by Juliet Dark

The Demon Lover is a pre-release review.

message 7: by Cinderela (new)

Cinderela | 14 comments Guild Hunter series looks appealing..

Chris how do you like Eternity so far?

Really enjoyed, I Am Number Four, although the controversy behind the author/authors is unfortunate.
:(

message 8: by Chris (new)

Chris | 4 comments @ Cinderela.

Kind of repetitive so far. I feel like I'm reading parts of Fallen Angel all over again. And some of the characters are husks, without any real dept.

@ Miles and Cinderela.

Had to google what controversy you were talking about with one of the I Am # 4 author. I'm kind of surprised he got a second chance after pulling that crap.

message 9: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Robison | 3 comments Hey everyone... I am Tasha. Reading Shrouded Secrets right now. Its a little slow going (not the book just my reading time) myhusband is out of town and I'm taking care of three wee ones by myself for a few weeks. My reading time is slim to none. So sad because I am totally sucked into this story! Joel is such an amazing person. I don't even know him and he has been so good to me. I knowing will be buying this title for several if not all the libraries. :)

Nicki | 2 comments I would love a copy an ARC copy of your next book also. I sub teach grades k-6 and I can see some of the 6th graders loving Shrouded Secrets. I can see your next book being a hit with them also.

The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
by: Avi
is my favorite book of all time so far. emotion afterwards excited. the ending was awesome after all she went through.

message 18: by Cinderela (last edited Aug 14, 2011 11:05AM) (new)

Cinderela | 14 comments It's not my favorite book of all time but after I read The Alchemist
I remember feeling like anything was possible. Like I could go for what I truly wanted in life and if I went for it, the whole world would help me achieve it. (which is so different from my normal opinion about the world)
I guess the word is inspired.
:)

Tasha Robison | 3 comments People who review books a lot could you please tell me how you review them? I have been asked to review many books and most I have really enjoyed, I have enjoyed working with the Authors even more so. How ever there have been a few books that are just kind ehhh... How do you kindly give an "okay" review?

message 21: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Robison | 3 comments p.s. NOT Joel's book am I talking about... I have had very little time to read so I haven't finished his yet... His is amazing so far! :)

message 22: by Alfonso (new)

Alfonso (fonz) | 6 comments @miles So far so good. I hear nothing but good things about the opus so i decided to give it a go. The first book is awesome. I have to wait until tomorrow to get to the library and pick up the second one.

Hello Tasha;
How are you? Joel has sent me your question and I would love to answer it by one line Write your heart's joy. Just forget about the whole literary methods and literary Analysis because you are not in a class and no one will grade your reviews; just speak about what you love, hate and what or whom inspired you and which character you loved and the one you would never want to meet or befriend with or even the best moments and the ones that made you cry. Just speak about your feelings and be fair to yourself aka if you don't like the book say so but remember to say it nicely because authors are people with feelings and the books are there babies -you would not accept if someone told you that your baby is ugly-.
Just enjoy the book and tell us your pure thoughts.
Review are about how you do the characters, plot and story line by your own eyes, understands them by your own soul and loves the with your heart. The is no pressure.

Cinderela | 14 comments I quick comment on it..
I was actually surprised at the amount of Male Persons on this site. It made me realize that guys do read! Just none of the ones I know.
Apparently that number is still low, compared to women or girls - but theirs no need to despair, guy readers Are out there and I want one! ;)

And yes I feel that most YA novels are more inclined to entertain the female audience - and similarity most are probably written by women.
Perhaps the men that write would rather write about things more seemingly important? Therefore YA Literature does not - on a relateable POV - call out to the young male audiences.

message 28: by Alfonso (new)

Alfonso (fonz) | 6 comments It's considered nerdy if a guy reads, which in my opinion is extremely stupid...literally lol. I'm the only guy i know my age that reads and it kind of sucks because its hard to compare and talk about good books with a related crowd, not that I don't trust a woman's opinion. Plus the girls on this website that i have met so far have great taste. I just recently found this site and I love it. Just never thought to look online I guess. So if anybody has any suggestions on great books i would love to hear them.

message 29: by Carol (new)

Carol (mirrorsanity) | 1 comments ITS NOT NURDY FOR A GUY TO READ. ITS SHOW HE HAS IMAGINATION, AND A MIND. HE'S SOMEONE WHO HAS SOMETHING TO SAY(AND MAKES SENSE). READING IS NOT A NURDY PASTIME., YOU KNOW THE SAYING USE IT OR LOSE IT
