Wendy F wrote: "It looks like that one is in the middle of a series?"Opps! I didn't know that. I was looking on my phone. I'll erase it and nominate a different book.
My personal favorite, Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. It's on sale for Kindle for 99 cents right now. It's hillarious!

"Thanks Susinok. I just ordered it...sounds great!
I bought that one a while ago, it sounded good.I see it's the 3rd in the series, but Goodreads says that the series is 'loosely linked' and doesn't need to be read in order.
I'll go ahead and accept this one. Thanks Susinok!
Wendy...is it OK to post a book I authored? Or is that just shameless self-promotion. :) Heh! I just noted the Group Rules to the right there...very catchy. :) No problem, I admire MANY authors in this genre. One of my favorites is, Let Sleeping Rogues Lie (Sabrina Jeffries).
Lord of Scoundrels totally stands on it's own. You do not need to read the rest of the series, though Dain shows up in book 4, The Last Hellion.
The winter Sea looks great. I think we're at 13 in this thread, so I'll accept 2 more nominations. I'm posting the polls tomorrow when I get home from work.
Still accepting nominations?I nominate Silence in the Mist by Leah Marie Brown. i found it really good.
I counted wrong! We have 13 books, and Nominations are closed.I'm going to the movies in a bit, and have some family plans, but I'll get the polls up this evening.
Looking at the descripiton, I wouldn't call this a Historical Romance. It's contemporary with time travel.
Haha!! I better go look..."A deeply engaging romance and a compelling historical novel...Susanna Kearsley has written a marvellous book."
-Bernard Cornwell
As long as the primary part of the book is in the past then I'd say it counts as historical.Especially if you look at the synopsis of the other versions of this book, like this one...
It is 2008 and Carrie McClelland can't hit the right note for her next novel, but an unplanned detour in Scotland, and a stop at the castle that inspired Count Dracula, sets her on a different path; a path that took her back in back exactly 300 years, to that same castle, and to a rebellion doomed to failure. Alternating between the contemporary setting and the past, The Winter Sea takes us at every turn into little known worlds; historical footnotes writ large, a history of Scotland and the Jacobite rebellion of 1708 and the possibility of genetic memory. Historical fiction at its best and Susanna Kearsley at hers, The Winter Sea evokes the writing of Thomas Raddall, Daphne Du Maurier, and Mary Stewart.
Remember that November starts our Group Read of The Winter Sea.
I'm really looking forward to this one!
i'm reading this right now as a group read for another group and its really good - the beginning is a tad slow, but gets better
I'm so excited to read this one. I've had it on my nook for awhile and just never got around to it. Sounds really interesting.

Like usual, I'll take the first 15 book nominations before creating the voting poll. Here are our guidelines.
1. The book has to be in that months genre selection.
2. If nominating a book in a series, it must be the first book in the series.
3. Each person can only nominate one book.
4. The book has to be available in print as well as ebook.
Let nominations commence!
