This is the second week of august. And for those of you who don’t understand what it so special about the second weeks of the month….or any month really.

This is the time we all get to nominate a book to go into the poll (which is next week) and may eventually be chosen for our BOM.

Now things to remember when nominating a book :

*Title and Author are a MUST! (How am I to know what book you have nominated otherwise?)

*If you have written a book and you would like to nominate it, please check with a moderator first in order to find out group rules.

*If it is part of a series please nominate the FIRST book in the series, but if we have previously read it in a BOM, you may nominate the next book. Also if you really want to read it check out the buddy reads area (you might find we are already reading it)

*Nominate One Book Only i forgot to mention this in the message

Nominations close Next Monday the 15th

H.K. Savage | 57 comments I have to look it up, or maybe someone knows but I keep seeing this emerald green cover with a gold key or pendant all over the net but it's a bad shot and I can't get a read on teh name. Maybe the author's name is Kerrilyn or something? I'm curious about it but have so little to go on I haven't gotten it yet.

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Otherwise, I've just gotten a book from an indie author called Amaranthe and it's what I'm reading next. Adele, is that too informal to ask or does the nomination limitation thing span all indie books or just our own? Honestly have no idea about this one, I have yet to read it.

message 4: by H.K. (new)

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Okay, if that one is out, I just bought The Return of the Ancient Ones by Gary Caplan. It's literally from a right hand column ad - I don't know the author. ;)

message 5: by Kate (new)

Kate Givans (kategivans) | 11 comments I would like to nominate Amaranth by Rachael Wade as well. Really good book! Definitely worth the read! Probably one of the best Vamptasy stories IMO.

it's just your own books.
sorry but i'm cracking down on self promotion. I didn't want to completely ban people from nominating their own books, so this was the next best thing.

Indie books are fine to nominate, the only problem with indie books is the availibility.

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
@Books4life
so which book are you nominating?
the only kenyon i can know of isSherrilyn Kenyon
i looked at her books and there doesn't seem to be a green key on the covers.
either the mystery book or
The Return of the Ancient Ones
which one?

Amaranth can be downloaded on Kindle and I believe is out in book form on Amazon.

message 9: by Mary (new)

Mary Ting (maryting) I would like to nominate Crossroads :)
For more details on my book please see the authors work area.

message 10: by Kate (new)

Kate Givans (kategivans) | 11 comments Okay, just checked into it to be sure - didn't want to misguide the group. Amaranth will be out in book form Sept 30th but can be purchased in ebook/Kindle form through Amazon, GoodReads, B&N and Smashwords. I don't know if that means it has to wait because it isn't in book form or not but I would LOVE to read it again. Definitely one of those repeat reads for me...I don't find many of those these days.

can someone provide a goodreads link to the book for me... i can't find it. and if it isn't on goodreads it can't be put in the poll.
Thanks ~ Adele

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
i have to admit Cathy i'm rather reluctant to include this book.
i might have to think about adding another condition in the future... saying something about when nominating that it should be availible in book and electronic from.
due to the fact not everyone owns a kindle or is able to e read. and there are many other reasons why people don't e read.

i will include it in the poll and leave it up to the people to decide.

message 14: by Kate (new)

Kate Givans (kategivans) | 11 comments I can definitely understand that. Maybe it would be a better nominee for next month....

message 15: by Kate (new)

Kate Givans (kategivans) | 11 comments It will be out in book form by then.

message 16: by J.D. (new)

J.D. Stroube I would like to nominate Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs.

message 17: by H.K. (new)

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Adele, you rock! Yes, I'm nominating Sherrilyn Kenyon's Retribution (once you found the author name, the book was easy). Thanks.

Thats Book 20!!!
if we are going to read the dark hunter series it should be from the start not halfway through.

Night Pleasures is the first one, did you want to change your vote to that?

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amanda_grace28) | 5 comments i wanted to nominate How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper

message 21: by H.K. (new)

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Holy wow, sure, change it to book 1

message 22: by John (last edited Aug 10, 2011 08:40PM) (new)

Ok as soon as i figure out which one is number one.... fantasy lover is a prequel but technially #1 is Night pleasures...????

according to the authors website, dark hunter#1 is night pleasures....
so night pleasures it is then.

message 24: by H.K. (new)

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Maybe this is too complicated for me to take part in. Clearly if I can't figure out the book, we can't read it. I do know The REturn of the Ancient Ones and now own it so let's make it that one. I swear I can form a thought sometimes...

message 25: by Adele, Moderator (new)

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
Can anyone cornfirm this for me? if i was to read the first book in the series, which one would it be
Fantasy Lover or Night Pleasures???
different website are telling me different things and goodreads is telling me Fantasy lover is a prequel, so i guess we read that first...???
Ahhhh driving me nutso!!!!!??!!!!

message 26: by H.K. (new)

H.K. Savage | 57 comments Do we want pub dates or does the Prequel status make the diff?

message 27: by Adele, Moderator (new)

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
Pub dats say that fantasy lover is first.
And so i suppose we shouild read fantasy lover first then.... terribly confusing isn't it!

message 28: by Mari (new)

Mari Miniatt (MariMiniatt) | 9 comments I am nominating my book Fledgling: Coiree Guardians - Book One.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know if there is a page/length limit to these nominations.. If not I would like to Nominate The Passage by Justin Cronin By Justin Cronin :D x

message 31: by Pitchblack (new)

Pitchblack | 3 comments My Blood Approves and Fate by Amanda Hocking
My Blood Approves (My Blood Approves, #1) by Amanda Hocking Fatethis series has four books and they are all good! This is a must read. It was recommended to me by Kyra Gates and it is awesome, its similar to walkers being that is has a more adult edge to it. So if you're under 18 then you may want to ask your parents before reading it.

message 32: by Kate (new)

Kate Givans (kategivans) | 11 comments Adele:
I definitely second your motion on Fallen. LOVED it! I would read that one again too. I have actually finished the whole series on that one, save the last installment that won't release until next year. Definitely something a little different too.

Shy The WidowMaker (booklovingmama) I am seconding My blood Approves.

message 34: by Adele, Moderator (last edited Aug 11, 2011 07:48PM) (new)

Adele (mooturtil) | 1749 comments Mod
Unfortunately seconding things doesn't count in the nomination process. it all counts in the poll!
so make sure you vote when it's ready.

Thank you for your nominations everyone.... keep them coming! Only a couple more days to go.

message 35: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Blackwell (charblackwellbooks) I would like to nominate Divine Savior This is my fave author and her stories are a little steamy too. It is the second book in the Aaron's kiss series, but her books can always stand alone.

message 36: by Rizza (new)

Rizza (pillowheart) | 6 comments I would like to nominate 13 to Life (13 to Life, #1) by Shannon Delany for this month maybe? :)
