Did you ever wonder about Shepherd Book's backstory and whether we would EVER find out about it? Looks like we will! I'm quoting here (with permission) from another forum:

Joss and Ron have been dropping little hints about Shepherd Book for about a year, now... Here's a link to the Wiki on him:

During the Browncoat Cruise, Ron Glass said Joss had given the OK for him to reveal some tidbits about Book:

1. A part of Shepherd Book is artificial
2. He found God in a bowl of soup
3. Book is best known for his greatest failure
4. “Derrial” is not his real name. He took that name from a man he killed.

I was on the Cruise and he took great delight in giving us one small tidbit every night. I think that last point was the one that elicited the greatest "oooh" from everyone there.
I have heard contradictory info about whether the new comic books with be online only or in print.

I hadn't heard that the new comic book might be online only! I guess I just assumed it would be like Serenity: Those Left Behind and Serenity Volume 2: Better Days. I did enjoy reading "The Other Half" online, but it's just not the same as a book. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Either way, I'm excited to find out about Book's backstory!

Beware of fake celebrity Twitter accounts, there's a lot of people masquerading around as celebrities. There are ways to tell if it's a fake celebrity or the real deal. Charisma's possibly a fake and people found out hence why her account was pulled. Al_Hannigan is a fake as well, despite her claims.

@alydenisof is the legitimate account. I've seen her post photos from the Emmys and other parties as well as photos of her, Alexis and their child.

Very cool, Darbus! I've added it to our group shelves. I'll list it as "to-read" for now, then change it to "read" as soon as someone posts here that they've read it!

I've read it. It answers all the questions about him in a succinct, effective manner. It's awesome.

Now I'm jealous. :)

Hmmm...maybe the graphic novel isn't my thing but I wasn't very impressed with The Shepherd's Tale. Still wish we could have learned more about Book in the show. Damn FOX!

I haven't read it! Now I must :)
