just finished this up on Saturday and loved it...I gave it 4.5 stars in the end, because the ending was kinda predictable to me...but I won't say more until other people have read it

I actually listened to it on audiobook. Just so good!

I started The Winter Sea today and wow! I'm loving the landscape detail and the sea/ocean is like another character in this novel. I can almost feel the wind, cold and damp on my face.

It's creepy but you know how Stuart keeps preventing her from falling while walking by her rented cottage... that's something... not sure what but it mean something. Sophia, just met Mr. Moray... can't wait to find out what happens there. (hide spoiler)]

I plan on reading it, but probably not until the middle of the month, like how I did with last month's group read.

I started yesterday, and I'm in page 58 (so I haven't read Leea's spoiler). So far it’s good. If it keeps this way it’s going to be a favourite, we’ll see.

I didn't know about Darien (the Scottish attempt to start their own colony, which was smashed by both British and Spanish). Amazing the cruelty you find in history and how dreams do not always come true. I love when I learn something new in a novel without being taught a class.

I also like how the author does the transition from one time to the other, it’s very natural.

I'm reading mine more towards the middle of the month too.

Sandra, sorry to hear. Not having power is a terrible thing to have to go through. Are you guys finding ways to stay warm? I hope you have a fireplace or something. I'm worried about you now. :(

I can relate...I'm not a snow fan and we're stuck inside today because it snowed pretty hard here, but at least we have power. It's way too early for snow. Hopefully we'll be back up in the 70's next week because Colorado is really wacky with the weather. It can be cold one day and hot the next.

All your post Bout the boom are getting me anxious to find the book.... So far have not came across any english selling bookstore in frankfurt.....

thanks u all.. I appreciate it.. well my candle obsession is coming in handy now.. lol.. And my mother always asking me why I buy so many candles.. she not complaining now. and we have also migrated to only one room in the house and lots and lots of blankets.. I just want some heat.. :(

I do have a lot of books, but hard to read with no lights.. but I'm managing, at least during the day i'm at work n we have heat here.. :D I can defrost here for a few and last night I stayed with my aunt who has power so had a nice hot shower.. made my night.. :D

I am all for it. I think as you read on you'll see (view spoiler)[ Stuart is a bit of a wild man and Graham is kind of perfect for her literary mind. I think he challenges her in that way. Although, I totall agree that he isn't as an exciting, passionate, "can't live without character" that he could be. (hide spoiler)].

I will remvoe spoilers once more people have read the book.

Wow!! I'm on page 324/401... (view spoiler)[ Sophia had her daughter, Anna and she just learned that her husband was injured and we don't know where he is. So many people, I don't trust. Captain Gordon, has the hots for Sophia and although he took care of John... I just don't trust him. In carries family history, Sophia Patterson marries some member of her family. What if John changed his name, that whey Carries father can't find any informations about him... Could happen? Graham and Carrie are so cute together and they have a spark... why do I have a feeling that Stuart is going to mess with them somehow. (hide spoiler)] I can't wait to finish and find out how it ends... yay!

Leea, this book made me cry harder than any other has in quite a long time.

Oh boy!! I hope to finish it tomorrow... sounds like i'll be a mess.
