Regina Kitto | 21 comments I am making a bird house quilt right now at the moment. Let me say I work on 5 quilts at a time because I get bored seeing the same thing all the time. I get anxious as well thinking when will this get done and then I just can't stand seeing the fabric. So I work on 5 projects and when I start to get that anxious feeling i put that project aside and work on the next one. It works very well for me rotating them . It takes longer but I do get them done.

Cathy (boxershiner) | 61 comments Good for you! I always worked on 2 at a time and finished them before starting the next 2. Then I joined a couple email lists and started doing swaps and lotteries, etc. Now I have lots of quilts that aren't done, some are tops some are just blocks.

Do you read more than one book at a time as well? I am a one project at a time kind of gal. I do find I am so ready for the project to be over when I am done.

Same here, Kathryn. I work on only 1 quilt at a time. I can't stand the mess of having all that fabric out and about. I do read more than one book at a time, sometimes. I did that more when I was teaching; not as much any more.

Regina Kitto | 21 comments I only have the mess from one quilt on my floor at one time. I usually pick what I want to sew. Cut it out and put everything I need for that project in a basket. I have 5 baskets and I just work thru them one at a time. When I get sick of seeing that quilt. I pack it up in it's basket and pull the next one out to work on that. That's how it works for me. It's really good at the moment as I am working on such large quilts for my family

Yes even thou I like working on 5 at a time I will not start another till they are all finished. I may look around for fabric to buy for my next thing but I wait till they are finished. I get my quilts professionally quilted if they are single or bigger as I get tucks in the back when I do it myself. I have 4 at the quilters at the moment. I need to finish this birdhouse one now i'm on the last borders which are harder than I thought they would be.
