I loved it. Thought it was brilliant. I couldn't stop discussing the chapters with whomever I ran into. Clever.

The Other Hand The Other Hand by Chris Cleave

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Though enjoyable, the story was filled with plot holes like a bad drama film. I hated the hype on the back cover written by the author, even though it is the thing that made me buy it; I felt like it was a cheap trick to get more people to purchase it.
Read it if you like realistic fiction, it's not too bad really. Just not my type of book.

Absolutely loved it. It's a series of lectures read by the author and I found it to be a really wonderful intro to the topic. Great pacing, very clear explanations, and plenty of examples. I now have my eyes on Modern Scholar's courses and really hope the rest are the same quality.

If this was any other book, I would have given it three stars. The storyline was okay, interesting enough to capture my interest, but colder than what I had expected. I didn't quite connect with the characters But. The photos tied in with storyline... mesmerizing. It made the entire book for me. And when I discovered that they were actual photographs owned by actual people, I was blown away. The premise of finding these gems and including them it just about the smartest storytelling device I have ever seen.

All in all, good book. I am quite happy I own it in hardback.

A big disappointment. I was hoping for more from Harris.
