Hey all! I'm looking for some books with "uncommon" creatures. There's a lot of vampire/werewolf/fae books out there, but I want to try something different! What I mean by uncommon could be: mermaids, druids, gargoyles, etc. Anything that would be considered different would be great!

Boy, you asked for a great list. I too like urban fantasy that has more than the common supernatural. Some of these suggestions do include your usual vampires/werewolves/faes but not always as main characters. Gargoyles, Dragons, Genies, Selkies: The Negotiator Trilogy starts with Heart Of Stone by C.E. Murphy
Selkies (main character), Dryads, Goblins, Genies, Gnomes, Kelpies, Nagas, Succubi, Incubi: Jane True series starts with Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler
Grim reaper, demons: Charley Davidson series starts withFirst Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
Furies: Shades of Fury series starts with Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie
Banshees: Souls Screamers series starts with My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
Angels: Madison Avery trilogy starts with Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison
Ghosts: Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
Ghosts, Shapeshifters: Strange Neigbors series starts with Strange Neighbors by Ashlyn Chase
Ghosts, Ghouls: Jane Jameson series starts with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper
The Cal Leandros series has a different set of monsters. Each book has something different and none of them are commonly used in UF. Hell, some of them are the first time I've seen them. The Twenty Palaces series also has a different type of creatures. They're kinda demons, but they are very different from what you typically see with them.
Second on the Cal Leandros series. The Felix Castor series by Mike Carey has ghosts, demons and a zombie.
The Nightside series by Simon R. Green lots of different creatures.
The Shades of fury series by Kasey MacKenzie has beings from Ancient Greek Mythology:
The Remi Chandler series by Thomas E. Sniegoski has creatures from Judeo-Christian mythology:
I second most of those already listed.Demons: Hunter Kiss series by Marjorie M. Liu
Demons, summoners : Kara Gillian series by Diana Rowland
Siren, vampires, were: Blood Singer series by Cat Adams
Demons, fae, super humans: Dreg City series by Kelly Meding
Sylph: Sylph series by McDonald, L.J. (PNR)
Thanks for all the suggestions! I've added quite a few to my to-read pile. I appreciate them all xox
How about the Zodiac Series by Vicki Pettersson? Humans with comic book superpowers, but it's much darker than that makes it sound. Also, the Jesse James Dawson series by K.A. Stewart features a human with no magical ability of his own who fights demons. Only two books so far, but they are great.
And the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine is a nice change from all the mythological creatures. Humans with special abilities to manipulate the weather, earth, and fire.
And I put my votes behind the previously mentioned Cal Leandros series (a personal favorite), Kara Gillian series, and the Nightside.
