Rated YA-MA discussion

I like Nora alot more than Luce. And I know lots of people who don't like this series as much as the hype suggest, but I'm one of those crazy fans. =)
This was probably the 3rd or 4th book I read and I remain a faithfull fan of the series. There is just something about the take on fallen angels, the story and the writting style that I fell in love with. Besides, there's Patch(one of my top 5 fictional man of all time) and he is enough to make me love these books.
I will be re-reading the first 2 books this month in anticipation to the last book coming out Oct 4th. And yes...I will definetly be in 'fan girl' mode. lol

A fourth book has been anounced!!!!!!
It is expected to release in the Fall of 2012.

Also a graphic novel for Hush Hush is to be released on November 8th, this year.

I like that there's been a trend for graphic novel remakes of books. Reading the VA one was a lot of fun.

I still have to get my hands on the VA graphic novel, it looks really good. I've just been so broke lately, and the cheapest I've seen it was $12.

Don't you think the Patch on the cover of the HH graphic novel is a little too buffed up? I though Becca describbed him and toned and lean but not too bulky.

I got it for the $7.16 paperback price (no clue why I'd want it in hardback anyway, since it's a comic) and used a 20% off B&N coupon that they sent me.

Anybody want to remind me what happened in the last book. I remember at the time I guessed a lot of it, but mostly I can't remember it. (view spoiler)[I remember the friend being the bad guy and something happened to Patch at the end, but that is it. (hide spoiler)]

Just got my copy of Silence from the library! Yay!

I read Silence and I have to chose my words carefully or otherwise it will seem like I didn't like the book. Which I did!
I was a little unsatisfied by the first half of the book. I've heard a lot of people say that (view spoiler)[they loved how Nora and Patch had a chance to fall in love all over again, but to me it felt more like the author was stretching the story without really going anywhere. I liked that Nora was more determined on this one and Patch was more protective. But to me, there was a lot that could have been left out. Again, don't get me wronge because I still love the book. Specially the second half. But I would be lying if I said it was as good as the first 2. Well at least to me, you might think differently. So read the book and come talk to me about it! I am one of those ones that loved the parts you didn't. I felt so much while reading it. (view spoiler)[Nora getting to know Patch again and falling in love was sweet. The fact that even though she had no memory and was still seeing flashes of black and was drawn to Jev drew me in. i love that. I always hope that if somehow my husband and myself lost our memories we would still feel something deep inside for eachother. One of my favourite episodes of Star Trek Voyager was when everybody lost their memories and had fake ones implanted. A husband and wife (she was pregnant) had fake memories that didn't include the other, but Tom still felt drawn to her and wanted to protect her and his baby. I am sucker for that stuff.

What did you think about the ending? I wasn't expecting Hank to want Nora to lead his army. He had to know she would do what she could to stop the war. I am not sure how she is going to be able to do that though. (hide spoiler)]

I love Hush Hush and I also like Crescendo but Nora really grated on my nerves on that second one. I'm 1/4 in Silence and I'm really hoping she reverts to a stronger character and I'm praying she doesn't do anything stupid on this one. lol

Carrie, (view spoiler)[the fact that Hank wanted Nora to lead his army was a TOTAL shocker. I'm very nervous about where book 4 is gonna take us and I hope in the middle of all the drama that is to come, we get more relationship development for Nora and Patch! (hide spoiler)]

Laraine, what did you thin about Silence?

Were you guys happy that Becca decided to write a 4th book, or do you (now that you've read book 3) wish she would have ended it in a trilgy?

Well Nora was really frustrating in Silence, haha... I missed snarky Patch in it too but he's still the best thing about the series. I'm glad there's a fourth book and I'm hopeful that it brings out the best in both characters if anything else.

What do you guys think? :)

I saw the change in Patch too unfortunately, but that's why I want more Patch/Nora time, so their relationship can develop an we can 'embrace' this new side of him.
He is definitely s till the best part about the book...although I gotta say Scott has....something, that attracts me to him. We haven't seen enough of him for me to be sure though.

Ok so about Vee, (view spoiler)[I really HATED her in book 1. She was selfish and stupid. I had no idea why Nora considered her her BFF. But then in book 2, she did a 180! And now, I really like her. She's alittle annoying still sometimes like with her new found hate for guys, I mean its understandable I guess, since she doesn't remember what happened with Roland(?).But I'm glad Becca developed her character in this direction. I hope she does the same with Patch and Nora. (hide spoiler)]

I've only read the first book and I wasn't too taken with in. Does the series get better, or do you have to kind of be invested in the romance?

Apparently it gets worse. I stopped after book one.

For me it's about the same, it doesn't get better it doesn't get worse. I hate Nora, like Patch. Still prefer it to Fallen.

I have yet to read a book about angels I've loved, so I mayb not be the best authority. I always give up on the series as soon as those damn angels pop up.

was really good. I also liked and , but Angelfall is probably the best if you're looking for one that's less girly. There's too much post-apocalyptic stuff going on for the romance to be any kind of major focus.

I would say if you weren't into the romance, then it's best to stop.

Thanks Stacia. I also really liked . I'm not against girly stuff as a law, I'm just not often swept away by it, which is what I'd like to be. :)

As a huge fan of this series, I'd say if you're not in to the romance/relationship, you probably won't like the rest of the series. The relationship play a MAJOR factor in the whole series.

It is big on the romance.

I also second Stacia's recs, great ideas for angel books.

I love this book very much.. The story line kept me wanting to reread this book. It is awesome.. I love the way Patch try to keep Nora safe from danger. I actually like Dante but I never thought he would betray Nora. Well a very nice plot twist. Love it!

I am currently reading "Silence," the third installment in this series, and so far I'm enjoying it much more than the previous two. It's got more action, and I love the whole amnesia aspect.
