I have obtained TEC from the library, and read it and everything!A book a month is about right for me - I don't have time for more than that, really.
Also: Hello, everybody!
Yay! I'm not finished yet myself, but I will be by Monday I hope. Discussions start October 1st.
How are we doing discussions and things? General, or questions to contemplate/ respond to, or...? I've not done this book group thing before!
I could look for questions to consider if anyone wishes (and certainly everyone is welcome to ask any questions of their own), but we can start with airing general opinions on the book and the characters.
Our next book will be Harriette Arnow's The Dollmaker. If you are in the US (or can order from Amazon US from another country) and you can't find a copy in your local library, there are many copies available at Amazon for a good price: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listin...
Hmm. I appear not to be able to get a copy for less than £15! It's not in any library in Glasgow or Edinburgh, and the only copies on Amazon Marketplace are in the US.This could be problematic.
I'll get a copy and send it to you as soon as I can. It is available on Kindle here, but I know sometimes they block kindle sales depending on which country you're in--I can't get any of the Dorothy Sayers novels, even though they appear on Amazon US.
Kindle edition doesn't come up as an option for it, so I suppose it must be blocked. At a guess, there's no UK publisher... I can reciprocally send you a Dorothy Sayers novel if you are in need of one? What one would you like?
don't worry--I can get the paper copies, it's the kindle editions of the original novels that they display when I do a search but won't let me buy. You could send me a letter, though :)
How about The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? It sounds great and they keep making movies out of it. :)
We could read it as an alternate or interim book before/during The Dollmaker, if anyone is interested. Speak up if you are!
Also, if anyone else is interested in reading the Dollmaker and has had trouble finding a copy, let me know.

I was also thinking of one month per book as a time frame--is that too short (or too long) for anyone?
