Hi! My romantic-comedy "Puerto Vallarta Sunsets" is out soon and I have MOBI (Kindle) and PDF ARCs available for anyone who would be interested in writing a review for them on Amazon and/or Goodreads. (It is a short story - 40 pages.)When tourist extraordinaire Dena Thompson spots Curtis Schuster in the airport, she picks him as her vacation project. The poor guy is wearing a button-down shirt on the flight to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; the uptight geek obviously needs her help to loosen up.
All Curtis wants is a quiet week on the resort. Although the nutty blonde keeps inviting him on her outings – to a tequila factory, on a dinner cruise – he keeps turning her down. However his refusals have a cost and every time he stays behind, disaster strikes.
When he does finally go out with her, Curtis discovers that having adventures is fun when Dena is involved. But since they only have a couple days left, the couple doesn’t know if their holiday romance will last once they get home.

Any of B. Traven’s books are a must for those interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Mexico’s vibrante, tortured history leading up to the revolution. NYT’s Book Reviews said “Readers who ignore the genius of B. Traven’s writing do so at their own peril!” I recommend starting with “A Bridge in the Jungle” then advance to the entire “The Jungle Novels” series if you like his style.
A couple of other classics I missed seeing on other’s Mexico lists are Steinbeck’s “Viva Zapata!” The script and story behind the movie screenplay, and “The Pearl” a gem of a parable the way only Steinbeck could weave it. Another is “La Lacuna” by Barbara Kingsolver, a fun take on life with Frida, Diego, and Trotsky, and “The Feathered Serpent” by Colin Falconer, an interesting take on how Cortez’s mistress La Malinche helped him to conquer Mexico.
Last but not least, my own memoir, “The Mexico Diaries: A Sustainable Adventure” Rated 4.47 on Goodreads, Literary Guild winner and author of the NYT’s best selling “On Mexican Time” Tony Cohan calls it: “As lively and engaging an account of resettling in Mexico as you’ll encounter, replete with goat wrangling, narcos, scorpions, and a rollicking cast of characters”. Surviving Mexico. com / Book Reviews says it “A whirlwind Mexican journey to sustainability and beyond. A read in a million and one you won’t want to miss!”

Underratedreads.com says: There are a few books I’ve read that have had this effect on me. I look forward to my reading time, usually nap time or bedtime, because the book is there waiting for me. And, as I near the end of the book, I begin to feel sad because I know I will soon be saying good-bye to it.
