This is the folder for all self promotion whether blurbs, new release notices, whatever else there may be. Please limit yourself to one topic per book.

P.J. Johns (PJJohns) | 93 comments Cheers for starting this book club, Scott!

I suppose I should kick off the self promotion ...

Liberator's Ruin:

In a world at war, three people will decide the fate of an entire country.

Nathaniel An’Rieyr is the captain of the airship Storm Brother and profiteer extraordinaire. He dreams of making his fortune in the lucrative southern trade routes. But to achieve that, he will need to get involved in a war he has made a career of avoiding.

As the last surviving member of the Illysian Royal Family, the war is all Anna has left. The Rhivellian Empire took her family, her throne and her country. Unable to compete against the might of the Rhivellian war machine, Anna enacts a plan to retrieve a mighty artefact from a long forgotten Age. With it, she will finally have the power to reclaim her kingdom; a goal for which she will sacrifice anyone, even her closest ally.

Thomas Ras’Kar, High Inquisitor of the Rhivellian Empire, has been sent to Illum in disgrace, where he will be forced to contend with the incompetent Thane Charles. Three years of occupation has seen the city’s populace cowed and the Thane’s interest turned to his own pleasures. A fate worse than death for a man of honour and action such as Thomas. But the Princess is returning to Illum, and she may be the key to his redemption

http://www.amazon.com/Zachary-Pill-Dr...

His parents should have told him he wasn’t human.

Mercilessly picked on because of his green hair, Zachary Pill finds his sad life spiraling into disaster when his father disappears from their Boston apartment. Forced to relocate with Madame Koochie, whose New Hampshire house is so filled with filth and trash you can barely walk from room to room, he knows life couldn’t get any worse. But soon monsters and dangerous magic convince him that things can always get worse.

Bitten by a poisonous dragon, Zachary ignores the scales growing on his shoulders as he joins a boy werewolf and a young, beautiful redheaded thief to save her little brother. Terrified, the three friends travel to confront the kidnapper, a troll who may have caused Zachary’s father to disappear.

99 cents.

Martin Gibbs The Spaces Between

The Spaces Between takes you down a knotted path into an ending so surreal you never see it coming. It starts off as a traditional adventure, but quickly spins out of control as we are met with an unscarred mercenary, a trigger-happy mage, a drunken lout, an idiot man-child who we'd say has Asperger's or autism (his story is told first-person), a secret Order of trained assassins, a Holy Temple, and a dangerous warlock.

As one reviewer on BN.com put it, ".... There is a tug at something remembered yet just out of one's reach. The result was that I had to keep reading to find the final 'knot' to the story."

message 7: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Lynne (pjlauthor) Wow, I'm going to have to put a few of these books on my wishlist. They all sound great.
Here's my book, Being Human
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JNBWBO
For Tommy, there is only one thing he needs to do: survive.

Only surviving isn't that easy. The hunt for blood can be tricky when humans know to fear the night. Desire sits on the edge of his mind, urging him to become the monster humans think he is. Vampire Forces, a special branch of police, is determined to turn every vampire to ash. Tommy included.

The only human Tommy can trust is his twin brother. A bond connects them, and with Danny's help, Tommy starts to understand the human world he struggles to survive in. He'll learn what friendships means and feel the sting of betrayal, find that sometimes the worst monsters are very human, and come to understand that family means more than blood.

Tommy just wants to survive and he knows what he needs to do. But with the number of humans that mean more to him than a meal growing, he'll learn there's more to life than simple survival. He'll discover being human doesn't mean being a human.

Elixa Everett (ElixaEverett) | 6 comments This is my newest release. Usually my erotic romances are a little on the dark side. This one is fun and lighthearted. Once you read this you will never think of a leprechaun the same way again!

http://www.amazon.com/Lust-Love-Luck-...

When called to the aid of a beautiful woman down on her luck, Shamus is surprised to discover that he and Suzanna are destined to be together. Lifetime unions between mystical beings like Shamus and ordinary humans like Suzanna have been unheard of...until now. But the real question is, will Suzanna want him when she discovers that her exciting new lover is actually a leprechaun?

P.S. I really love the idea of the indie book club!

Hello Elixa! Welcome to the club!

I love that line. "...you will never think of a leprechaun the same way again..."

That makes me smile. :) I'm not really into romance, but my wife is, and I'll mention it to her. She has a Kindle app on her iPod.

Nice! Always love trailers! I will have to check them out!

I'm still toying with the idea of making a trailer or two for my new book coming out.

Elixa Everett (ElixaEverett) | 6 comments Thank you for the warm greeting. :)

It seems most paranormal writers like to write about the sexy vampires/shapeshifters (I have a few out myself) but I figured people need to know just how sexy a leprechaun can be! When you you think about it, what's more romantic than rainbows and large kettles of gold? Hehe.

Have a great weekend everyone,
Elixa

Jim -

Thanks for letting us know about it. I just entered your giveaway! By the way, I've got one going, too, if you're interested. :) And, I just got a nice review from one of the winnders of the last giveaway I had. An awesome way to start the day today!

How many pages is your book? How long has it been out? Do you have a blurb for it?

message 20: by Jim (new)

Jim Galford (jgalford) | 150 comments Thanks! I'll make sure to hop in on yours.

The book is 456 pages in 6x9" print format...so...950ish pages in traditional paperback. 198k words...I thought I went overboard, but the funny part is, the readers I've had write to me so far demanded/threatened/begged for about 200 more pages. Go figure.

It's been out since 8/8 of this year, so not long at all. The official blurb is on the book's page and that's the same blurb from the back cover. Don't have a good summary beyond that just yet.

Nah. I encourage it. I wouldn't have found 90% of the indie books I have enjoyed without the author pointing them out to me. It seems that it is almost the only way to do some marketing.

I can nominate one of my reviews if it makes you guys feel better, but they are pretty short reads. Also some of them are kind of terrible.

message 31: by Jim (new)

Jim Galford (jgalford) | 150 comments I may not be great at self-promotion, but I do know that saying your writing is "kind of terrible" doesn't motivate people like one expects. :)

Also, I put my blurb up in the main promo section, so Jeff can nominate without breaking rules.

I have never written anything published. I am just a reviewer. My claims to fame can be found in the acknowledgments of a couple of books and several quotes taken from my books used for others promotional materials. I will be the first to admit I don't have what it takes to be a writer self pub or otherwise.

But when she finds the school’s Mr Charming, Harland Woods, unconscious on the school’s oval, she has no idea how much her simple discovery will change the course of her life...

Forever.

Problems arise when their tutoring sessions start to blossom into something more. While Harland is preoccupied with trying to keep their relations secret, Nyssa’s life is about to change, forcing one of them to make a life or death decision.

Christmas Lites by CreativeReviewPub

New Christmas-themed anthology Christmas Lites has 26 stories by different authors, and all proceeds go to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

It involves in various stories, Santa, a small boy, the family dog, a ninja Elf, some ghosts and zombies, a snowmaiden and a kick-ass Gingerbread man who just can't resist using that catchphrase....!

It's great fun and for a good cause - authors, editors, cover designers, formatters, everyone has donated their time and work and the proceeds go straight into NCADV's bank account!

I got mine from Smashwords while I was waiting for the hard copy and there are at least three stories in there I wish I'd written so far...out of, er, three...)

Along with a rather splendid trailer courtesy of Cambria Hebert!
