Reading Around the World
>
Bob's around the world
I have decided not going to have time to do another challenge so will share / bore you with this one Who is the moderator? Would like to know how much can cheat!!!
Melki wrote: "Okay - I give up. How are you going to cheat???"Are YOU in Charge?
How much has each book got to be in the country?
can we have more than one country from each book?
Ian on the UK site is very strict sure you will be kinder
No one is IN CHARGE! I think it's most fair if you pick only one country per book, based on where MOST of the action occurs. But I don't think anyone here will call you on something, unless you start making up books and saying you read one per day. (Though Lynne the Book Squirrel could probably get away with that.) I thought you were going to read Michael Palin's Around the World in 80 Days: Companion to the Pbs Series and say you were finished with the challenge. PS. Ian terrifies me!
@ Melki, Ian is a sweetie! And thanks for the compliment of my reading one book per day! Hoping to finish one tonight but it is UK based from Leicestershire near where I was born and bought up.
I have been thinking of re reading Mc Carthy.s bar which if I remember a lot was set in Tasmania which must be quite rare Think can get away with that
And a bit of light relief

Now we could do an Ian and say NO RE-READS allowed!! LOL!
Lynne - The Book Squirrel wrote: "Melki wrote: "Ian's not here. Read whatever you want, Bob."Hey, you are supposed to be on my side!"
Stacey wrote: "Who's Ian and why is everyone looking over their shoulder when talking about him?"Stacey. He is the moderator on uk book club and thought up the 80 days idea.
Ugh. That doesn't sound like fun. Whenever I get into reading challenges, I get competitive and then it loses the fun factor, lol.
Stacey I know what you mean. I have not got competetive on this one as a number of people read far more than me. In saying that I will have to complete it. I have found a lot of books I would not normally read. I think the challenge for states would be to difficult for me I don't even know the abbreviations! English counties as some people are doing would be a lot easier
Ian's not a bad guy, though I do get a distinctly anti-American vibe coming from him. He helps keep Bob in line, which is difficult!
Keep me in line!!! How dare you!! I don't think that British are anti American I have met loads of really clever funny interesting Americans on this site and oddly enough when I have been to America.
JUST a couple let you down. mainly ones who pick on ME.
I am a bit grumpy as on nights and heating broken and waiting for repair man
I have finished a book though
You are a grumpy pumpkin today! Good luck with the repairman. If they are like US repairmen, they will promise to arrive anytime between the hours of 8 and 5 and will knock on your door at 4:55. Meanwhile, you've wasted an entire day, sitting indoors, afraid to even use the bathroom for fear that you'll miss the doorbell. Good news about the book though. Did you add it to your list yet?
It was set in England and I used the first short story as my set point.have a look at uk site I have set up a discussion would value your opinion Really no joke
Bob
I have added SPAIN to my list above with The Flanders PanelI was amazed had to but Madrid between Dublin and Cardiff going west to East
Have a look on an atlas

Enjoy it while it lasts - we will soon be tied. Then I will leave you in my dust while you're watching rugby.
Austria sorted with another hostage book! The book was good but the true story was a strange thing. Does anyone recall the story?
Finished Madeira for PORTUGAL That is 17 now onto South Africa and Mongoliastarted to read again as well so soon be way ahead of Melki
Actually, Bob, you can stop gloating - we're tied. It would help if you'd number your list like a normal person.
Melki wrote: "Actually, Bob, you can stop gloating - we're tied. It would help it you'd number your list like a normal person."You have a point there Melki! But is Bob a normal person? LOL!

Well, Bob...I've been reading books for 3 Goodreads groups, 2 real book clubs, participating in the A - Z Authors challenge, and the 50 State challenge - that's "where" I am. Sorry that I do not live exclusively to try to beat your Around the World totals. Now, sod off. (And would it create an international incident if I called you a wanker?)
Thanks for those kind words I am a good boy so they mean nothing to me!!
Remember I am just a man doing this challenge and ALL women can multi task
So when I get the feeling may win with women at anything brag and boast as much as I can
(but think touched a nerve)
You touched a frayed nerve. On edge right now as hospital keeps sending ME the bills for husband's recent kidney stone, instead of sending them to the insurance company. Not much stops your heart like opening an envelope and seeing "Please remit $30,453.22"!!! So far, the total is over 60 grand for a freakin' kidney stone! Be thankful you have national healthcare.
