Pendergast Task Force discussion

I know they have an old Relic movie and I think Pendergast is not even in it? The Authors said they had no say in that movie and can't comment; obviously they dont sound happy about it. But how about some new ones? Has anyone seen the old one?

Raj, The Relic is playing a lot on Cinemax right now and no Pendergast is not in it and it is set in Chicago versus New York. I have not been able to sit through the entire movie since it is so far from the book that it frustrates me... But I would suggest checking it out just to see it... if you have a hour or so and are bored.... Too bad that Hollywood has not picked up the books and done a better job putting them on screen...

The movie is set in Chicago because the administration of the Museum of Natural History in NY refused to allow the film's producers to film there as they felt the book was unflattering to them.

I read the book and saw the movie and enjoyed them both, despite the movie's divergence from the book. It is well-made with a good cast and director and special effects by Stan Winston. Worth a view.

I thought the relic stunk and only used the book to steal the story line. As for movies, i believe p & c have announced the gideon series is being made into movies and are excited about it. Should be good.

The few times I have seen the movie the thing that upsets me is that it's missing Pendergast.

I don't understand how they could leave out such a wonderful character!
