September 2011 - What are you reading?
Right now, I'm about 65 pages away from finishing From Dead to Worse, and hoping to complete it today so I can start River Marked, one of my PIFM challenge recs.I'm still listening to Sugar Daddy in audiobook format.
Katie wrote: "I haven't read any of Lisa Kleypas' contemporaries...are they good?"It's my first time dipping into her contemporaries. I'm almost halfway through and so far it feels more like a memoir of the heroine. Beatiful writing as usual, but I'm getting impatient for the romance part. I'm sort of disappointed that the male lead that was introduced at the beginning turned not to be the one for the heroine... hmmm...
can't believe its September already...insanity!!!I'm trying to finish up my around the world challenge from another group - so I have a random collection going
going to finish up The Hunger Games on audio tomorrow on the commute and will be starting Succubus Revealed
for me - sugar daddy was more chick lit than romance, but the second and third ones are solidly in the romance categoryYz the Whyz wrote: "Katie wrote: "I haven't read any of Lisa Kleypas' contemporaries...are they good?"

Hmmm...I'll have to think about that. I'm reading Single White Fang from Willa Okati's Brotherhood series. I have to say, I'm not really impressed with it so far, but now that I've started I feel compelled to finish.
I just finished Kleypas' Sugar Daddy. Despite the fact that the romance portion didn't start until the last third part of the book, it was quite intense. Again, Kleypas showed her masterful prose with this book.I'm about to listen to Cast's Hunted for my FAC challenge. I must be a sucker for punishment because I didn't really like the last HON book, but I just feel I have to give it another try.

I couldn't face another purile, ho-bashing double-standards, gee-don't-I-use-big-words (not) HON book (apologies to all those out that love these books)... so I'm going with Goddess of the Sea... (Hope I didn't put you off Yz! ;)
Just finished Laura Griffin's
and also Christie Craig's
. Both books were wonderfully fulfilling reads. Laura's was, of course, darker and grittier content. I love her "Tracers" series and "Snapped" was a great addition to the series.
Christie Craig writes witty, funny and laugh-out-loud dialogue that mixes characters with sizzle and sexy to serve up hours of great reading delight. I loved the characters and story in this one. I can't believe the number of people who have asked if it's a "cowboy" book. No, it isn't.
I'm in the mood for romance so for this month I will be reading: Love the One You're With
Love Walked In
Safe Haven
Heart of the Matter
Happy September reading to all! :)
Finished The Boy in the Striped Pajamas yesterday, and today I'll be reading The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
im reading "to tame a highland warrior" bykaren marie mooning`s
LOOOOOVEEE the series! im also reading "this heart of mine"
by SEP
Just finished Guardian Of Honor. Loved it. So tempted to read the next book, but I have my challenge books waiting and feel I must read them first...But it isn't really bad - my next book is Play of Passion... Love the Psy series!
Jane (PS) wrote: "ARK wrote: "HON ?"HON = 'House of Night' by PC Cast :)"
ahhh
I tried reading one of her/his? and didn't like it.
seemed YA and apparently not my genre
PC Cast is a 'her'. The initials stand for Phyllis Christine - she writes the House of Night books with her daughter... ...I know this because I am hosting the Featured Author Challenge and PC Cast is up for September. ;)I'll be really interested to see how Goddess of the Sea reads.
Read
, I liked the first two books better, but I can't wait to read the last one,
, I thought it was better than the last one and a great way to end the series...also read
and I Loved the hero and of course the ending. Finally I read
and it was ok, not really my kind of read...starting
Hello everyone i hope all is well. when u get a chance check out Tangle Webs its on Kindle right now. will be on paper back soon. its a great book about a female who had it all.
If I listed all the books I've read in just the past week alone I'd be here all day. lol But I just finished Nauti Boy by Lora Leigh (one of Missie's recs from the Pick For Me Challenge). I really enjoyed it and may be just become a new fan of Lora Leigh's. Great pick Missie! Now though, I'm finishing up Divorced, Desperate and Deceived and starting up Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye.
I'm reading The Princess Bride now and also The Marsh King's Daughter. Planning to read Late Eclipses since One Salt Sea released yesterday. Oh and Archangel's Blade is also up next. I'm loving September! :D
Dee wrote: "for me - sugar daddy was more chick lit than romance, but the second and third ones are solidly in the romance categoryI so agree. While I liked Sugar Daddy books 2 and 3 are FANTASTIC! I am still holding out hope she writes a 4th book.
I just finished Delicious by Susan Mallery which was much better than I was expecting. A solid 4 star book. I just put in a bookswap request for book #2.
I just checked out Bitten by Kelley Armstrong for my PIFM Challenge. Looking forward to it as I've now read 3 books that Vi has recommended and she has yet to fail me.
Ananda wrote: "I'm reading The Girl Who Played with Fire - Stieg Larsson and Truly Madly Yours - Rachel Gibson."I just finished Rachel Gibson's "True Love and Other Disasters". Though it vaguely reminded me of a Sophie Kinsella book I read a while ago, it still made up for a fun read. Do you like "Truly Madly Yours" so far?
Oh, and thumbs up for "The Girl Who Played with Fire". I *love* the Millennium books! I pretty much devoured them. :-)
Well Anya I am still reading it..and it is getting better. But by better I think I would give it 3 stars (so far)..I must admit I didn't find the beginning very amusing..and the main male character Nick..so macho. But now I am more into the book, I start to enjoy it. Will see what will happen at the end:)
