It's official. My addiction is out of control. Can't even keep my promise to myself about cutting down :PTODAY i have ordered on-line:
A Contract With God

The Dreamer
all three by Will Eisner
And then I also ordered The Female Man by Joanna Russ
Bought 2 Black Stallion books and 2 Andrew Lost books for my younger kids & The Poisoned House for my older daughter.

The President's Vampire: Strange-but-True Tales of the United States of America
All About H. Hatterr
Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes
All from Amazon.

So far only two. I'm proud. If i weren't moving to another country later in this month the list would have been so much longer, but!
and
(:
Was at Borders on Friday looking for bargains (yet again) and came home with :The Tin Roof Blowdown by James Lee Burke
Capitol Offense by William Bernhardt
Capitol Conspiracy by William Bernhardt
One Hex of a Wedding by Yasmine Galenorn
This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost.
Spent $22 and saved $33.
Does it count against my self-imposed ban if I didn't buy it myself? My Dad bought me
today at Walmart.
My addiction is out of control. :( I blame Half Price Books and their extra 20% of everything sale. Here's what I got today:
I also got a bunch of Arthur books for the daycare that I work for part-time.
I can't complain to much. Most of the books I got were on the clearence. So no more book buying for me until the Friends of the Library sale in 2 weeks. :)
I haven't bought any books this month...still waiting for my DH to buy me a Kindle for my B-day! Meanwhile I've added Frozen in Time: The Fate of the Franklin Expedition and 11/22/1963 to my Amazon shopping cart.
Believe it or not, I was actually out Labor Day Sale shopping for something other than books, but when I was done, I still could not resist stopping in one last time at Borders where I picked up:
I hit Borders today too. I am so sad to see it go. I did get 18 books though! Spent $100.30. Everything was 60-80% off. To name just a few of the books I picked up:
Red Azalea by Anchee Min
Everything Flows by Vasily Grossman
Ali and Nino by Kurban Said
and The Hare with Amber eyes by Edmund DeWaal.

My local Borders is also an hour away. It will be closing in approx 10 days. I prefer it to the Barnes and Noble which is only 20 min from me. The B&N doesn't have much of a selection.

One of the strange things about an expatriate, raised in the western-most city in Texas and migrating to a European country largely under sea level, is a developed affinity for fish. Our house counts more than five aquariums, ranging in size from modest to humongous. Spread around my house, they each present a different would unto themselves. The variety of lighting, fish and aqua capes create different worlds and moods. As a purely amateur enthusiast, I buy fish and plants because I find them visually appealing. Often purchases end up as expensive meals for other aquarium inhabitants. I came across this book and suddenly realized I had no written literature on this interesting hobby of mine.Aquarium Fish of the World The I passed a book market and bought:

Bought books 2-6 of The Saga of Seven Suns for $5 last week (I volunteer at a St Vinncent de Paul shop, so most of the time I get to go though the books before they are priced and put out in the shop) Getting about 6 older Doctor Who books on Friday (got them put aside for me)
I started Christmas shopping. I can't tell you about those books. But I bought two for myself, LIVING WITH BOOKS by Alan Powers and THE SUNDAY MORNING CHURCH by Jerry Cook.
I'm not even sure where I put all the books that I have bought this month and it's only the 15th. I have a bag full hiding under my desk at work. I recently went to a book festival and received autographs of several authors, but purchased

..just came from the book store and picked up Outlander and Divergent. i could not help myself... but both are on my TBR list, so I don't feel guilty ...kinda. :O
Feeling very self-conscious here!!! Ok.. in my defense, I was pretty good since June, and I just had to fill up the empty bookshelves I have in my flat in NYC, seeing as I only brought 30 books overseas! (my sister is supposed to ship the two boxes I packed, but I'm not holding my breath).. So I went a little crazy in the last three weeks since I got to the US, what with Borders closing (60-70% off!) and BWB having a 20% off sale (no excuse for B&N though!)!!!
BWB
From Amazon
B&N.com
And at a closing Borders, everything 50-70%off:
