James Campbell (jamesccamp) | 4 comments Hey, thanks Ian. I was going to do that ;)

I was also going to add a collection of short stories by Tsai Wen-fu called The Ferryman and the Monkey that I picked up while I was in Tapei, but it was published by a small press in Taiwan and it's not listed here in Goodreads.

This is it here: http://books.google.md/books/about/Th...

Though the family name is spelled differently than my version.

Gary (garygibsonsfwriter) | 1 comments Taiwan, by Christopher Wood. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/98...

A thriller, about a group of criminals organising an art heist. And a very thrilling opening, may I say.

Christopher Wood has an interesting story: under a pseudonym, he wrote borderline soft porn in the 70s that led to a series of massively successful British movies with titles like 'Confessions of a Window Cleaner'. Cherie Blair, wife of the former Prime Minister, is the daughter of the star of all those movies. Wood later wrote some very well-received novelisations of the non-canonical James Bond movies. The Guardian have a recent interview with him here: http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-ent...

Josine van Heek | 3 comments Sorry!

The book by Wu Ming-Yi is called The Man with the Compound Eyes

message 17: by Joyce (new)

Joyce Bergvelt | 3 comments Thank you Josine for adding my book 'Formosa, voorgoed verloren', which appeared in October. This is a novel closely based on the true story of Holland's colonisation of seventeenth-century Taiwan, and of course, Zheng Cheng-Gong's role in the fall of the colony. If you click on the title you will also find info on the book (and a brief bio) in English. Just scroll down! You're right, so far it has only been published in Dutch, but there is an English (original) version that is awaiting publishing, we're hoping to find a publisher soon.

Hallo Joyce,

Groet, Joyce

Christine (Caffrey) (christinecj) | 1 comments Ed Lin's Incensed (Taipei Market #2) Notably a travelogue of Taipei set in a modern light crime mystery, with a bit of political commentary.
