When the Night Comes by Favel Parrett

This book is primarily set in Tasmania. However, one of the main characters works on the 'Nella Dan", a supply ship to the Australian bases in Antartica. There are some chapters describing his visits Antartica and life on board.

Empire Antarctica: Ice, Silence, and Emperor Penguins

I'd like to add a book I just started reading last night. It's called Up To This Pointe. It's a YA novel about a ballerina(!) who has a fixation on Antarctica and actually has one of the original explorers as an ancestor, surname of Scott. I'm really enjoying it so far. She's at McMurdo Station for most of the story.

Mrs. Chippy's Last Expedition: The Remarkable Journal of Shackleton's Polar-Bound Cat by Caroline Alexander is a wonderful story, but sad at times.

Winter Of The White Seal by Marie Herbert is a survival story.
