Critique objectively, please. If anything I say offends your beliefs, get over it. I just want fair, objective, real criticism.

I didn't much like the repetition of U.S. over and over and over again, nor the capitalization, but the message is poignant. :)
The repetition seems to go with the theme of the poem, or the way it was written, but it was all right.
The reason for the repetition of "U.S." is to drive the message through, it's a way to put through people's heads that our country is our country but it's not controlled by us, it's controlled by militaristic, wealthy, religious, "representatives", and "elected officials". Remember, it's still our country.

Mmm, not all of us are American, Lucifer.

Refer to the country as the "U.S." because that's the country's name. America is not a country, it's just a common misconception even amongst the dirty, white-trash, nationalistic, idiots we have here.
I'm about to express my views which are most definitely different than yours. Don't think that I'm trying to impose them on you, because I'm not. I'm just expressing my opinion. You seem to have this idea in your head that "America" is referring to North America. Quite frankly, our country is called the United States of America, and I don't think anyone wants to be referred to as "United State-ers" because honestly, that sounds stupid. So I'm fairly offended that you would call me "white trash", nationalistic, and an idiot, because 1. I'm Asian, 2. I'm not excessively patriotic, and 3. I'm not an idiot most of time.
I'm not saying that there aren't stupid people-- I mean, look at Michelle Bachmann, or even the every day stupid people: sexists, rackets, people who are ignorant, everyone who owns a front lawn, people who still think pennies are worth something.
On the subject of the poem:
I like it, despite the fact that I don't agree with some of the topic that I expressed. But because you were using controversial topics, I think you should play around with the form and experiment with how you capitalize. All lowercase letters have a much greater effect.

What would you have us be called, then, Lucifer? I find it funny, actually, that while in Spanish they have a word for us, "estadounidense," yet we Americans don't. Don't get offended by views on the subject, and please don't get all "politically correct," as it annoys everyone.
And, for the record, I am a proud Virginian. American.

:D I have a front lawn. And I think pennies are lucky, cute (even when not shiny) and definitely worth something (especially on Penny Roll Day, when students bring in pennies, and their teachers have to spend all class rolling them into those little paper things. Free day!)

Front lawns = evil. They soak up so much drinkable water and pesticides, may I remix you: they do not feed us. >_< I mean, there are some benefits, like they change CO2 into O2, but it's hardly the most effective. We'd all be better off with a garden of vegetables and stuff instead. Pennies cost more to make than their actually worth. Same with nickels. Think of all the pennies and nickels. 'Nuff said.

Not arguing. :D I know they're useless.
