Hayden was laying on a bench in the courtyard, sleeping. He was on his back, with his hat over his face to block out the sun.
Spencer walked through the courtyard, it was one of the longer routes into town. His aunt had told him to go get some things, and he didn't mind. It was nice to get out of the house...He wondered if she could tell how bothered he was. Spencer couldn't get Mandy out of his head. He missed her, and it hadn't even been a couple hours.
Stop being so pathetic. he told himself, She doesn't trust you, nor does she actually care.
Spencer smirked when he came across Hayden. Did this guy ever sleep inside? "Hayden, you know its illegal to loiter in public places." he said, flicking the hat onto the ground.

Spencer smirked when he came across Hayden. Did this guy ever sleep inside? "Hayden, you know its illegal to loiter in public places." he said, flicking the hat onto the ground.
Hayden woke with a jolt. He hated people touching his hat and glared up at the person who had woken him up. "Dude," he said, picking up his hat. "You're the only person who actually has the guts to tell me to move," he said. He was one of those guys who people tended to suck up to or just avoid. Hayden sat up and stretched. "I was having a really good dream too."
Spencer smiled, with some effort. "That's because I know I could take you." he said, without conviction. He actually was never sure...he didn't usually fight with many people. Let alone Hayden. "And I bet you were."
"I doubt it," he replied, standing up and putting his hat on his head. Hayden frowned. He was Spencer's best friend and knew when something was wrong. "You okay?" he asked.
He looked up, snapping out of the momentary daze. "What? Yeah. I was just thinking about someone I had met." he replied, taking a step backwards towards town square. "You coming?"
Hayden shrugged. "Sure. But I want to know about the girl you met. It is a girl, right? 'Cause I really hope you don't get that look on your face when you meet guys," he said, smirking.
Spencer rolled his eyes. "I'm fairly sure it was a girl." he said, explaining the situation as they walked. "I met her out by the cliffs, and I swear, she's the biggest damn tease I've ever met. Gorgeous too. Brown hair, light eyes. Doesn't take bullshit. And Jesus, she's a flamethrower."
Hayden laughed. "A flamethrower? Sounds like a nice catch," he said. "So, would you like to explain to me why you look like a cat who just got dragged through the rain?"
Spencer's eyebrows furrowed. "I'm not really sure what happened. Everything was going fine...but she wanted me to talk." he sighed, shaking his head. "And then she got a bit mad. We both kind of snapped at each other. I couldn't tell her. I don't want anyone feeling bad for me." he said, shaking his head.
"Please don't tell me you did the pancake thing again. Dude, everyone likes pancakes," he said, sighing. "Look, I'm guessing you guys went a bit further than holding hands," Hayden said, raising an eyebrow at him. "And if she could tolerate you for that long, I think she's worth keeping," he said. "You're going to have to tell her eventually, and sooner is probably better than later."
"Okay, the Pancake thing. Its not that well known." he said, face flushing. "And I know that..I just..I just don't want her to see me any different." Spencer said, sounding frustrated.
"If she really likes you, she's not gonna care," Hayden said. "And the worst she could do is dump you," he added, rather unhelpfully.((Hehe, I like Hayden!))
((Me too :D When I saw the Pancake thing I busted up laughing :D ))
Spencer rolled his eyes, "Your so good with your words. I don't know how you haven't swept a girl off her feet and married her to the sunset."
Spencer rolled his eyes, "Your so good with your words. I don't know how you haven't swept a girl off her feet and married her to the sunset."
((Haha, it's like Spencer's signature move :D))Hayden snorted. "I don't think I'm exactly marraige material," he said. "Why limit yourself to one girl, when you can have three?" he asked.
Spencer made a disgusted noise, and didn't try to hide it. Hayden and him would always be best friends, but that didn't mean they didn't have their fair share of arguments. "Your repulsive." he said, now smiling.
"And proud of it," Hayden said, laughing. "But seriously, it sounds like you're crazy about this girl. I have to meet her."
Spencer's eyes narrowed, and he automatically thought the worst. "You won't touch her." he said, eyes darkening. His palms lit with dark blue flames, and he hadn't even realized it.
Hayden stopped laughing. "Woah, cool down. Do you really think I would do something like that?" he asked, a little offended. "I just want to read her," he said, referring to her memory.
"I don't want you to invade her privacy either!" he said, tone exasperated. Not that, that was completely true.
