A indefinite useless amount of time later...:D
Spencer squeezed Mandy's hand once before letting it go. He stopped by a swing, and gestured for her to sit, a mischievous smile lighting his sharp featured face.
Spencer squeezed Mandy's hand once before letting it go. He stopped by a swing, and gestured for her to sit, a mischievous smile lighting his sharp featured face.
Mandy raised an eyebrow skeptically, but sat on the swing anyway. She wouldn't have been suspicious, but the look on his face made her wonder what he was going to do.
Spencer held onto both sides of the chain, and stepped backwards. He hoped she noticed the way his hands just happened to linger by her hips for a second to long. She was there pressed against him for a moment, and he kissed her cheek, before letting the swing go, satisfied.
Mandy noticed his hands and laughed at his utter lack of respect for personal space. She felt her back pressed against his chest and frowned slightly as his heat radiated through her shirt. Why was he so hot? she wondered. Mandy soon forgot about that when he kissed her cheek and let go.
((Brb for dinner :D And Yes. He has no respect for personal space. But its okay! Because his freaking delicious.))
Spencer moved out of the way as she came swinging back, and he took the vacant swing next to her, digging his feet and the ground and twisting around the chains. "So, tell me something about yourself Miss Mandy."
Mandy kept swinging, only so she wouldn't have to meet his eyes. "There's really not much to tell," she said simply, closing her eyes as the wind below her hair around her face.
Mandy winked and blew him a kiss. "Not today, honey. And besides, I only marry guys who grovel at my feet," she said with a sweet smile.
Spencer gasped, and let the swing go, so he was spinning incredibly fast for about five seconds. "I figured as much." he said, smirking.
Mandy laughed. Then wondered what she would have said if he had been serious. Yes, probably. She'd probably say yes to any half-decent guy who asked. She was sick of being alone, but she wasn't about to tell Spencer that.
Spencer grinned, and muttered something unintelligible about burning them before they even had a chance at asking for her hand.
Mandy snapped out of her thoughts and looked over at him. "What did you say?" she asked, hoping that he had actually said something and that she wasn't just going crazy.((Woah!!! Mind. Blown. I didn't even consider that!))
He glanced up, surprised by her sudden intensity. "Nothing?" he responded, raising his eyebrows.
((Landon is supposed to be older though, so I'll just switch their ages. I'm so glad you thought of that!!!))Mandy frowned. "Are you sure? I could have sworn you said something," she said. She wasn't accusing him, she was sure she'd heard him speak though.
((hehehe :D I hope she's not too young for Spencer though..)) *winks*
Spencer shrugged, "I just said something about fire." he said, leaving out the other part about her burning down random guys who may like her.

((She'll be seventeen, don't worry :) ))Mandy abruptly dug her heels into the sand and stopped swinging. Her eyes widened and she stared at Spencer. She looked vulnerable for the first time since she'd met him. "W-what did you say about fire?" she asked, knowing in the back of her mind that she was probably overreacting.
Spencer had the look of a deer in headlights, and he held his hands up in surrender. "Just something about guys who'd love to marry you." he said quickly, raising his eyebrows in question.
Mandy wasn't ready to let it go yet. "And what are you implying?" she snapped, switching from vulnerable to angry in a heartbeat. "I would never use my powers to hurt people intentionally," she insisted, getting defensive.
"Jesus. Relax Mandy. I wasn't insinuating anything." he said slowly, but a thought occurred to him. It was possibly the meanest thing he could ever said, but his voice was soft, and he was sincere... "Guilty conscience?"
((HE didn't mean the last part to be offensive! I tried to exaggerate that :P ))
((HE didn't mean the last part to be offensive! I tried to exaggerate that :P ))
((Haha okay))Mandy didn't say anything. Why did he have to care so much? It would have been much easier just to yell at him. She bit her lip, not sure if she wanted to tell him everything. The only person who knew was her brother, and she hadn't seen him in years. "I did something. I was young and didn't know how to control my powers and I hurt someone. But I didn't mean to, I swear," she said anxiously, afraid that he would think differenty of her.
Spencer stepped off his swing, unsure. The only thing that moved him, was him knowing she couldn't torch him, he really didn't want to piss her off though. Either way. He knelt in front of her on the ground, and caught her swing by both sides, making it so she wouldn't move. "I believe you." he said quietly, lifting her chin up with his thumb so she could read his eyes. He was being honest.
Mandy met his eyes and nodded. She suddenly felt the need to tell him more. "I've never told anyone before," she said quietly. "I was seven. And I was only trying to light a candle, I didn't think," she trailed off. Mandy took a deep breath before speaking again. "My whole house caught on fire and my parents, they died. I killed them," she finished. She let out a shaky breath, she hadn't cried since that night and she wasn't about to start now.
"Its okay. I know how you feel." he said, touching her hand gently. He wasn't about to elaborate, but still.
Mandy looked down at their hands, then frowned. "You do?" she asked. That wasn't the response she had been expecting.
"Isn't that what people are supposed to say when situations like this occur?" he asked, smiling lopsidedly. "I understand...I know you feel...I want to help. Things like that?" he added. Spencer didn't know exactly how she felt. All he knew was sometimes it was hard to control his temper. And when he couldn't, bad things happened.
"Wow, that really shows how heartfelt your response was," Mandy said, but she smiled appreciatively at him. "Thanks anyway though," she said.
Spencer smiled, and he nodded. "Now to make you feel better." he said, tilting his head to the side in thought...what would make her feel better?
Mandy grinned, she wondered what he would do and wasn't going to give him any hints. "I'm waiting," she said teasingly. "You can cheer me up however you see fit," she told him.
Mandy frowned, but did as she was told and squeezed her eyes shut. "This better be good," she muttered.
He chuckled lightly, and moved behind her. Spencer grabbed both of the chains, and used them as leverage so he could lean down and kiss her cheek. "Is it?" he asked, moving down her jawline with his lips.
Mandy smiled when she felt his lips on her cheek. "It depends," she said. "This better not just be a pity kiss," she warned him, really not caring if it was.
"No, I suppose it doesn't," Mandy admitted, turning her head to kiss his cheek. Once again, she noted how warm he was. She opened her eyes and looks at him. "You're really hot. I mean temperature wise, although you are also very attractive. Are you feeling okay?" she asked.
Smirking, he nodded reassurance. "Oh yeah, I'm fine. I always run hot." he said, doubling meaning.
Mandy narrowed her eyes at him. "There's something you're not telling me," she said. "But if you really insist on keeping it secret, I won't pry," she told him.
Spencer rolled his eyes, and he twisted the swing so she was facing him. "I don't lie." he said, wiggling his eyebrows. "I just don't tell the whole truth."
"Can you?" he asked, leaning forward, completely invading her personal space. It was probably a record, and she didn't even seem to mind.
Contrary to what most girls would have done, Mandy leaned forward. They were so close that she could feel his breath on her face. She kissed his nose and smiled. "I guess I'll just have to get used to it," she said. She moved close enough for their noses to touch. "You know, your awareness of personal boundaries is astounding."
Spencer cracked a small smile, "That's fascinating. Most people make known, that I am unaware of personal boundaries. I ,however, see them.-And choose to ignore them."
