Once Upon A Time... discussion

Lance came in, still holding Ginny's hand, "Tada!"

Ginny gasped, squeezing Lance's hand. Looking up at the artificial stars "It's beautiful" she whispered.

He looked over at her, grinning, "You like it?"

"More like..love" she beamed.

"Come on." He laughed, bringing her up some stairs to a projector, he rearranged a few things and then plopped in one of the seats, "Watch." he whispered as the starry sky shimmered with millions of falling stars

Ginny followed him up the stairs, sitting down next to him. She almost reached for his hand then stopped herself, as if. She looked up, charmed by the ceiling. It looked like a million lights all twinkling at the same time. It was better then the night sky because there were no clouds to block the view.

Lance watched the stars, reaching for her hand cautiously.

Lance's hand brushed hers, she flushed in the darkness. Ginny took his hand lightly in hers, tracing invisible patterns with her fingertips. She was glad it was so dark, her face was probably red as can be.

Lance's hand tingled where her fingers brushed against it. He sighed shakily, enjoying the feeling

Ginny smiled. She felt him shudder next to her, she tried not to laugh, and failed horribly.

Lance laughed as well, slightly embarrassed, "Alright, I give up, I'm dying to kiss you."

Ginny was shocked into silence, her hand froze. She didn't say anything, she didn't even think she could say something.

Lance took her silence as a bad sign. He drew his hand away slowly, "Sorry." he muttered, heartbroken. That hadn't gone well.

Ginny was hurt when he pulled his hands away, then she realized it was her fault. She leaned sideways, brushing her lips around the corner of his lips. Pulling his hand back to hers. "Don't be"

Lance grinned slightly, bringing her closer he kissed her back.

Ginny pulled back slowly, looking into Lance's eyes. Which were pretty much the only thing she could see.

Lance stared back at her, a million things rushing through his head. For once he wasn't calm, his heart was beating hard and he felt amazing

Heat rushed through Ginny, she wasn't sure how this had happened but she was glad it did. "I think we should go back to star gazing" she teased.

Lance laughed, "Yeah." he turned back to the artificial roof, but it took him a while to take his eyes off Ginny

Ginny kept her eyes on the ceiling, avoiding Lance's gaze. She was afraid if she looked at him, she would have the urge to kiss him again. If her family found out about this, she would never live it down. She pulled her hand out of his quickly standing up. "I ,uh...I have to go." She rushed for the stairs, taking them two at a time.

Lance felt the absence of her hand. "Wait!" He called, rushing after her, "Come back!"

Her eyes squinted in pain as she stepped outside the building. She didn't wait for her eyes to adjust before she started running. She didn't know where she was going, but wasn't very surprised when she ended up in the garden. She had heard Lance calling her name when she had left, but didn't turn back.

Lance chased after her, heading to the only place he knew she'd be

Lance, holding Ginny's hand, came in.

Ginny grinned as she walked with Lance, hand in hand. She was determined not to run out on him, no matter what. She wanted to make up for what she had done yesterday.

Lance fell into one of the seats at the bottom, lounging his feet across the chair in front of him

Ginny dropped into the seat next to him, mimicking his posture, with her feet crossed over the sit in front of her. She tucked her hair behind her ears, not hiding her face, because no one else could see. She hesitantly took his hand, "So, do you spend all your time here?"

Lance smiled, "Pretty much. It's always open, so it's nice when it rains."

Ginny nodded in envy, "sleeping under the stars"

He nodded, "Yeah," but old memories turned him silent. He remembered the first time he came here...

Ginny rolled her eyes, "what are you not telling me?"

"hmmm?" Lance asked, still sad, "Nothing really...just...a past."

"You know anything that matters to me," Ginny said quietly, "and i'd tell you anything else."

Lance squeezed her hand, wanting to tell her. Wanting her to know. "I never knew my dad, and mom died when I was seven. She had some sort of freak accident. I was supposed to go live with my Aunt, but I ran away instead. It was raining and I came here." He glanced around the large room before turning back to look at Ginny, "For the first time since Mom had died I felt...ok. I've been coming here ever since."

Ginny looked down, wanting to say something in reinsurance, but not sure what.

"And that's pretty much how I've been spending my time. Wandering around, eating apples, hanging out here..."

Ginny smiled at the thought, "you sound so free"

((hey, can you think of a good name for a Techie type character? I'm writing a story and the best I got is Chester, lawl...or Ripley...hmmm))

Lance looked at her, smiling, "I suppose. It can get a little boring at times."

Ginny shook her head, "Freedom...and boring, can't be in the same sentence."

"You'd be surprised what doing nothing can do to you."

Ginny looked down fighting back tears, "You'd be surprised at what an abusive father does to you"

Lance squeezed her hand, "You don't have to stay with him you know." He muttered

Ginny laughed with out emotion. "he's chief of police. Where am I supposed to go."

Lance had a very good idea as to how she could hide, but he kept it to himself...for now. "You could stay with me." he whispered, not necessarily wanting her to hear

Ginny looked over at him surprised, she blushed. "I could never just leave"

"Why not?" He asked, still a whisper

Ginny didn't know how to answer, she hadn't ever thought about it. "he would find me." she said, her voice barely audible.
