Something I learnt when living in Dublin, that amused me.

In a suburb of Dublin called Marino, there is "Marino Casino" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_a...), a small but perfectly formed house built on top of a hill for the Earl of Charlemont, to give him a great view down into Dublin Bay.

Naturally Charlemont was not on best terms with his next door neighbour, who owned the land between Charlmont's and the bay. In a fit of pique, Marino Cresent was built in Clontarf to spoilt the previously uninterrupted view of the bay from the Casino.

Well it seems Stoker's childhood--and particularly his Mother's stories of HER childhood--had a huge effect on his writing. Thank you for the links!
