The Breathing Series discussion

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS ARE IN THIS POST**

Let's talk about the upcoming sequel to Reason to Breathe. Any suggestions on a title for the book? I follow Rebecca Donovan's Goodreads blog (http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...), but she hasn't given us a title yet. Also, according to Rebecca, this book is HOPEFULLY going to come out in October/November 2011. No promises, but that's her goal. It'll be here before we know it! Soooo excited!! (:

Okay... So thinking about titles...

If we play with the breathing idea, and we're assuming that Emma has a long road ahead of her to recover (she better!), maybe there's some legal stuff going on with the witch, and we assume Sara & Evan are in a bad spot given Emma's condition... Maybe something like "Holding My Breath"??

Or we could go with other reasons like "Reason to Fight"....

Thoughts?

I personally like Reason to Fight because I am optimistic that Emma will survive and now she will have or find a reason to fight for her life.

I really like "Reason to Fight" or maybe "Fight For Breath". I'm curious to see where the story goes. How it will all play out and what will happen to Mrs. Evil.

I am dying to read the new installment! I keep checking to see like.. is it out yet? No. Is out yet? No. :( lol

I feel your pain! Hopefully soon.... Maybe it will be a good sign when she decides on a title. Then maybe it will be published shortly thereafter?! One can only hope.

Yes, that's technically true.... However, Rebecca just posted on Monday of this week that she's finished another chapter. In other words, it's a work in progress. I think she waits until she's finished to title it, unless it comes to her before then. And they've done the photo shoot for the second book cover. I'd think that, since they've done a photo shoot for the cover, she must be close to finished. No worries, Clarke. We'll have it in our hands soon enough (:

Hi! Just chiming in here about the sequel's progress and its title: Rebecca has the sequel planned out almost completely, even though she does surprise herself with a twist here and there. I want to view the story as first time reader, so I don't know the outcome, but the sequel is on the horizon. I promise. I've read a good bit of it already. And we've discussed many title possibilities, but I've advised Rebecca to wait until the story is more close to completion to settle on a title. At this point, I still don't know what's going to happen! Nice as a reader, but as an editor it's hard to say, "Yeah, that's a perfect title!" :-)

Oooh, excitement! :3 I really can't wait for this one! I've read reason to breath six times now XD

I just finished the book and I am still in awe. I have sooo much correcting to do(I'm an English teacher), but I can't pull my mind away from Emma and Evan! All I have in my head is Evan knocking on her window and getting no response. As a result, he climbs in her window and tries to wake her finding that she is badly injured. He picks her up gingerly and walks out the front door, done with worrying about Carol and George. When he gets her outside, he lays her on the soft grass and breathes for her. When he realizes she's living and can survive long enough to get to a hospital, he takes her there. Thus far..... the only title that comes to mind is Breathless... or Take my Breathe Away.....
Both have positive and negative connotations..

I like Breathless.

Anyone know when it might be coming out... I mean tomorrow would be pretty badass but I'd settle for January?!

Tomorrow couldn't be too soon. I finished the book like 10 min ago and I'm in shock. I'm the type of person that doesn't like to leave things halfway, and I just can't get my mind around this. It's frustrating! Anyway, I get that the tittle of a book is important, really I do, but I couldn't care less right now, I just want it to be published so I can read it and finally know what happens next.

"Just Breathe" is nice! But, again, I just want to know and read what happens next. I would at least be satisfied with the overview or synopsis. Only for a while, but still, it would be nice.

A synopsis would be fantastic! A release date would be even better!

Ok. I am seriously going insane!!! I just finished this book and I fell in love with it. I felt like I was in her shoes th whole time. Then I was left with a total cliff hanger! I have books already lined up but I'm worried if I move on to those, I'll forget about this one. Anyway, I seriously need the next book! Please let me know when it's released!!! I am going to devour it as soon as I get my anxious fingers a hold of it!!!!

i like Holding My Breath because that is what ive been doing trying to figure out if she lives. most likely she will sence there is another book coming out.

BIG NEWS, PEOPLE!!! I just heard from Rebecca with some updates on RTB #2. Here they are:

1) She hasn't officially decided on a title, but she keeps coming back to "Barely Breathing"!! What do you think?

2) The drop dead release date is May 1, but Rebecca is meeting with her editor the first week of February to confirm the "official date".

3) Rebecca was working on the sequel as of 25 minutes ago, and she wants to thank everyone for their patience. She knows we all want this book out yesterday, and she's just as excited to deliver it to us. But she's taking the time to make it the best it can be so we'll love it all the more.

Don't forget to post any questions you may have for her under the thread "Questions for Rebecca". I'm going to interview her within a few days and post the answers there. Thanks!

Well.... Barely Breathing is good, but I read it and it sounds like it won't end with a sequel and continue for a trilogy, and my nerves just WON'T stand another wait like this! Is there another title, I don't know, more FINAL? I'm serious, just thinking about the story NOT ENDING with the second book makes me sweaty and nervous.

She already said there will definitely be a third book.
