Another one that comes to mind is the classic, Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce.Another, is Girl With the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier, which is a historical novel inspired by the Dutch artist, Vermeer.
I'll vote for The Da Vinci Code That is probably my best along that lines. It seems to me there was also a good biography of Vincent Van Gogh.--
