Talia gazed at herself in the mirror as she finished tying the ribbon into her hair. It was a frosty blue color which matched the rest of her dress and her silvery heels."Talia, dear, are you just about ready?" Her mother called from the other room.
"I'll be right down, mom!" She hollered back and left her room. She made her way gracefully to the kitchen where her mom was making dinner for her and Talia's father. Talia wouldn't be eating there tonight because there was an Eraser's meeting. The older woman smiled as she turned to face her daughter. "You look lovely, sweetie." She smiled kindly. Talia chuckled lightheartedly.
"Thank you, and might I add you look very well for a pregnant woman also."
The two left and Talia went to get her car to drive to the dinner.
Shae sat next to Andrew as the Inkers gathered for dinner and a meeting. Both were quiet, but Shae was moreso a pent-up fury whereas Andrew was calm and collected, waiting for their leader to begin speaking. She picked at the wood of a stick moodily. Andrew glanced over and looked at her with a touch of sadness, but let it go and turned back to his food, taking a couple bites.
Talia arrived back at the Eraser's headquarters and parked, getting out of the car and walking with a fixed, hard expression on her face as she went through the doors.
Dmitri was waiting outside the dinning hall, a pellmell mess of random chairs, plates, and cutlery around a larg rectangular table, with a smaller one on one end the high leader sat at. He smiled as the Inked walked past, proving he'd never miss out on the dinner. He had red hand marks on his neck, and his upper arm was heavily bandaged, proof of an earlier fight, but he was still standing there smiling, greeting people and laughing at some passing comments. The show was just about to begin.
Nikita sat, running her finger absently over a knife. She stared down at her feet, muttering under her breath. She cracked her knuckles as she chewed on the inside of her cheek, waiting.
Mia was waiting for the meeting to start, tapping her hand on her knee. The red dress she was wearing softened the sound, but it counted seconds for those able to hear. They should be here by now, she thought, keeping a steady face. She wanted to get this over with.
((Dmitri. He's extremly vulnerable if you go after his girlfriend, and he doesn't respect authority unless in doing so would hurt someone. Do with this information what you will, but remember the camp is well hidden ;) ))
((Oh, misread the question, sorry. The leader of the Erasers hasn't been established, anyone can have it.))
Talia raised her hand. "I would like to volunteer myself to join this search party." After speaking her piece, she put her hand back down and looked at the rest of the group patiently for their approval. Their was a slight pause and silence until one of the boys spoke."With all due respect, Talia, I'm not sure you are fit for the position."
Given her delicate features, she was often underestimated and it was true that it came with disadvantaged. Still, she gave an icy glare.
"With all due respect, Alek, I am quite positive I can handle it." Her words were sharp as knives, as though the said boy should be experience physical harm from the combined glare and harsh words.
Mia watched this small fight mildly, as if it were a tv program she'd seen before. "The way you shrug off someone, Alek, I don't think you're suited for this. We all know their leader," she paused, letting the word she'd turned insulting sink in, "Dmitri is it? He is a threat, but what about that girl he hangs around with, that little puppy dog? She could be just the threat he is. Your insolence could get you killed."
Talia scowled at Danny. "You know the rules. The meeting time hasn't changed yet. Your tardiness is useful to no one." She said. She turned back to Alek, finishing her talking with Danny. "Thank you, Mia. Besides, I may not be as strong as some of our members, but I fight just fine because I know how to work with my surroundings, unlike some people." She raised her brow at Alek condescendingly,
"Then it's settled, you should be on the team." Mia said. ((You want Talia to be The Erasers leader?))
((Sure, I wouldn't mind :) she can be pretty intimidating and would run it with an iron fist lol Mia could be like her second in command or whatever or at least someone Talia would listen to.))
((Cool. It works because Talia would be the civilized women in charge of the Erasers, and Dmitri is the ruffian king of the Inkers. Contrasting!))
"We're wasting our time. We need spies to intercept the building. Think of it like an egg." Mia said, looking around at each person. "If we try to break it open from the outside, it make a big mess for nothing. But, if we go on the inside, crack it from the other side of the walls, then we have success." she said with a devious smile.
Talia nodded. "We are going to send an intel team to find their location and get estimates on their numbers. However, Mia suggests we plant spies on the inside. That could be very useful. We should dispatch a different team for that..." She thought over the matter more deeply, lacing her fingers together as she rested her elbows on the table and closed her eyes, how would they get someone in? Surely just walking up and asking to join would seem very suspicious. "We'll stage it. After gathering intel on their location, we can figure out a proper place to stage a fake erasing, they'll come to the rescue or something similarly pathetic and we'll retreat with a small fight. It will give them enough reason to trust our plant."
Talia smirked, not looking at her. "You must actually apply to join the party and with your tardy record, that reflects poorly on you. If you don't watch yourself,"She turned to face her "You might just be erased before you know it." She snapped her fingers and her dinner plate was removed. "I realize that, being as you are, you may not take my words into account. This is a dangerous action because if you don't, and you decide to go, you can be sure you won't be considered an eraser evr again. Am I clear?" She asked. She spoke in an icy tone, not sweet, not cruel, but almost eerie.
"As for you, Mia, that is for me to decide if you haven't forgotten." She stated. "Though, you have proven yourself applicable, and a worthy eraser, so I will agree that you may be a part of the intel party. As for our plant, I will think on it tonight and give word tomorrow morning."
Talia sat unfazed by the act, keeping her odd, harsh composure. "Even if you were the best fighter here, you're arrogant. A loose canon, can't seem to follow such a simple rule as coming to meetings on time since because we're in the middle of a war, they are becoming increasingly important. And now, acting so brashly and violently, needlessly putting marks in the table to make a point that you're strong. We've known you long enough to see how good of a fighter you are. Downright lethal. But that's not the problem." She sighed, thinking over who the party would include. Even she couldn't deny Danny's power."I suppose I'll be generous since I'm in a good enough of a mood. You may come with Mia, Alek, Shane, and myself for intel."
((so who wants to be the plant?))
((She means who's going to be the mole. If you want to you can, but Talia seems to be leaning toward Mia.))
((the one that goes into the Inker camp to gather intel on the people and their weak points, etc., etc. though it might be good to have two people in case one needs backup or something...))Talia nodded. "It is. Tomorrow at noon the intel team will leave and find the Inkers. Once we do, we will stage the fight and our spy will be set in with the filthy rebels." She stood from her seat. "This meeting is adjourned.
((Well Danny isn't having the best record with Talia, so she wouldn't pick her unless she was the most qualified at controlling herself. Mia seems more collected. Talia isn't really leaning to anything right now, cuz she's going to evaluate her options after the meeting.))
((Of course, if you don't want Mia to do it that's fine unless someone steps forward. Heck, she may pick Danny just cuz she wants to get rid of her in hopes the Inkers will figure her out or something. She doesn't like people who are so reckless really))
((I kind of have...? for the gifted roleplay, i made a girl that was pretty bad, but is becoming more and more good, so that kind of went downhill...haha))
((well i mean i intentionally made her to be just bad, but then the story kind of expanded and it sort of just went that way accidentally. Since we are the only 3 erasers, do you both want to do it, or just have one of you?))
((Well, none of the Inkers are present, so it's kind of frozen until attendence starts happening. Dinners just about to start, meaning speech time from Dumble- I mean Dmitri!))
((Well, good enough for me!))Dmitri stepped inside the dinning hall, signaling all to sit down and silence themselves. He smiled, taking his spot at the end off the table, but didn't sit. Speech time. "Well, before we eat, a few quick announcements. First of all, no deaths or major injuries on our side, so good work. That's day four, three more days and we beat the record." he said happily, gaining a few laughs from the rather large group.
Andrew clapped along with a couple others in recognition of the achievement. Shae just kept fingering the knife, with a deadly look on her face."Would you relax?" Andrew whispered in attempt to make her stop with the sharp object.
"Fine." She growled and stuck her knife in the table, then crossed her arms.
Dmitri smiled. "Now, though your fearless leader was locked in mortal combat, and the medics look like they could set me on fire with those dirty glares, I think it was quite the success. And, we got some useful information, so victory to us. That 64 to twelve, us pulling the lead." he went on. "And since I am still alive, no stealing my office, my stuff, or my girlfriend."
Dmitri looked around at everyone, then frowned. "Unfortunatly though, the people we've lost, the list still hasn't gone down. No missing people today, but no progress. We can only hope that if they aren't safe somewhere, the Erasers haven't gotten to them, or were at least kinder." he looked at them with sad eyes. "Lets take a moment of silence for those we've lost, think fondly of them." he said, going through the names of the missing before going silent for a moment.
Dmitri sighed, holding his bandaged arm. "But this, this isn't a time to lose yourself. Of course we miss everyone, but if we don't fight in their memory till our last breath, we might as well spit in their face. I want you all to do their memory well, to honor them." he had this way when he talked like that, like he was looking everyone in the eyes, seeing everyone's concerns and fears. "We will not forget those who have died, those missing, and those Erased. We are better than the wrong side of the pencil scum who claim nobility."
Dmitri heard Rae. "I know Rae, I know. That's why we fight, why we're here. We won't let them do what they want, Erase who they want. Those among us that have been Erased, they are the bravest people I've ever met." he said.
((Okay, got it.))Dmitri looked around. "Remember one thing guys. We are Inked. In this crazy, messed up world were children abandon their parents, mothers speak nothing of their sons and daughters, and you all had to grow up before you even got to be young, we won't follow the rules that we don't stand for. If the king and queen want to deliver me a fate worse than death, then I say one thing to them: they better stop playing games and just kill me, because if not, we might have a change in management." he said, banging one fist on the table.
"Well, I've had my two cents. Time to get to the meal, but first," he picked his glass up and raised it. "To Inked, and the change we will bring." he started the toast.
Dmitri saw most in the room join in the toast. "Alright, break bread, drink, talk, have a good time. Tomorrow, keep up the good work. Dig in." he said, and he sat down, universal signal for everyone to relax and go back to talking and eating.
Shae didn't feel hungry. She often didn't feel hungry. Instead, she decided to leave her share for someone who really wanted it and left the tent... she took a knife with her. Andrew sighed, but smiled at his neighbor and excused himself politely, following after his sister. He found her throwing the knives at a tree then wrenching it out only to throw it again, what she did when she was in an especially bad mood. She knew Andrew followed her, but she didn't want to talk. She was beyond it at this point."Do you want to talk about it?"
"Do I look like I want to talk?"
"You look like you need to or face implosion."
She scoffed. "No."
"You'll feel better."
"I won't."
"You usually do."
"..." She stopped as she was grabbing to pull the knife free from the tree.
"Well?"
"Go eat. I just need to be alone for a bit." Andrew shrugged and went back to eat with everyone.
"One of the worse moods again." He explained as he sat down, resuming his silence.
