Chrissie Lynne, well hi there! I have been waiting with excitement for your list to see what books I have missed I will check out The Colony of Unrequited Dreams.

I wish I could read The Angel of Grozny! I have enjoyed Seierstad's other books.

I am so glad you have joined. It wouldn't be the same without you.

message 3: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) You've got a good start. Of This Earth: a Mennonite Boyhood in the Boreal Forest  sounds interesting.

message 4: by Betty (new)

Betty Definitely looks good, so far. I'd be interested to find out your choices for China!

message 5: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments I'm getting there, slowly but surely. Next step, Palestine

message 6: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Lynne, YAY, you can read the whole book. I am so happy that you have chosen Blessed by Thunder: Memoir of a Cuban Girlhood!

Maybe you can read 22 Britannia Road first and tell me what you thought of it.?! :0)

You will absolutely adore The Storyteller: Memory, Secrets, Magic and Lies. Don't you mean this book for Hungary? The Storyteller's Daughter: One Woman's Return to Her Lost Homeland is absolutely wonderful but it is et in Afghanistan! Read that too!

You have many great books here, several of which I cannot get my hands on. I so want to read In the Valley of Mist: Kashmir: One Family In A Changing World.

We both have Gardens of Water, but I have it under Turkey!

I love your list!

Oops. I always confuse those books!

message 8: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Slowly but surely. Note that I did some editing of the earlier items. Next up Saudi Arabia..

message 9: by Chrissie (last edited Sep 24, 2011 12:38AM) (new)

Chrissie The Thon of Lion City: A Memoir is now available on Kindle. Lovely. I must add that to my list! Thank you.

message 10: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Finished, at least for now. I made more edits. I'm tempted to get started early.

message 11: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Lynne, I am reading books now from countries that have too many on my list. Have you looked at the pages number of The Dark Side of Love. I know it will be hopeless for me to read with a magnifying glass, but I have it and want to read it.

I will look at your books while I eat lunch :0)

Make sure you read The Syringa Tree, the novel, not the play:The Syringa Tree: The Play! I bought the wrong thing by mistake.

message 12: by Toni (new)

Toni | 13 comments Lynne - where do you go to/how do you begin to make a list? I feel completely dense - I can't seem to get to the right place...
Thanks!

message 13: by Chrissie (last edited Oct 06, 2011 10:28PM) (new)

Chrissie Toni, you add a new topic called Toni's books!

I cannot wait to see yours.

message 14: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Looks like you figured it out. Do you need any questions answered? I'm excited to see your list? I'll try to talk laura into making a list !!

message 15: by Toni (new)

Toni | 13 comments I get the new topic part, but where do you enter the books to show they are book titles, with the country headings?
Thank you!

message 16: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Time consuming but I had fun doing it and I want to go through others lists more carefully. I own most of the ones on my list so borrow away.

message 17: by Toni (new)

Toni | 13 comments Lynne, Judy, Chrissie - thank you! I think I've got it (finally)!

message 18: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Toni, it is so hard describing this stuff! Glad you figured it out. Lovely, another list to peruse.

message 19: by Betty (new)

Betty Dinner with Persephone: Travels in Greece has mixed ratings--you like it or you don't like it. I've never read it, but I'm a philhellene so it might be my cup of ouzo.

message 20: by Lynne (new)

Lynne | 14 comments Perhaps i should read it while drinking ouzo.

message 21: by Louise (new)

Louise | 120 comments Sounds like a great idea :-)

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 1309 comments Lynne, you might be one of two Lynnes. OR I had added some of your picks another day. Regardless, I updated your list with the master lists today. In case you go looking, I put Sicily under Italy, Hawaii/Alaska under USA, and "Kurds" under Turkey.

Also, you have Israel listed twice, just so you know!

It looks like a good list, a lot of non-fiction compared to most, so I'm interested to hear your impressions of what you read!
