Bakkian Chronicles, Book I - The Prophecy
And if anyone ever wonders what picture I'm using for my profile pic, if you were to click on it, and wonder just what the hell you're looking at, it's a concept drawing of a BNP.
:)
:)
Also should mention that the next book in the series will be released soon.
Bakkian Chronicles, Book II - Insurrection.

Sorry it took so long. I wanted to go as quickly as I could, but I didn't want quality to suffer either! That, and, well, life always throws you curveballs when you least expect them.Excited to see feedback from others and chat about it, it was a fantastic read!
Can I ask a favor of anyone living in the UK?
I'm trying to get Amazon UK to drop the price of the book to "free" as well, so I've been hitting the "Report a lower price" link, but I don't think they're paying any attention to me.
Can I possibly persuade those of us living in the UK to go to the Amazon UK webpage for Bakkian Chronicles, Book I and report a lower price and then point 'em to Smashwords? I've provided the links below.

Thanks in advance!

A new cover is being custom created by the artist who did book II's cover!! I'll post updates as I get 'em!
What do you guys think? Here's the new cover I'm going to put in for Bakkian Chronicles, Book I - The Prophecy.
I got Rachel, the same artist who created the cover for book II, to redo book I. And I got the same person who did the title graphics on book II to do book I as well.

Jeff,I really like the new cover. But I have to be honest when I say that I prefer the old cover. The original represents the spirit of the book really well (we see a contemporary couple looking confused in an idyllic setting with a giant spider threatening). The new cover seems a bit less evocative. Just my opinion. Please take with a grain of salt. And don't get me wrong: the new cover is very nice too. The new cover looks more polished if that's what you're going for. The old cover just looks more fun to me...
Bill
Hey, I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, the first cover was going for whimsy. The second was for a more simple, polished look.
I'm actually considering slipping the old cover image into the book at the appropriate place, 'cause I do like it. Have you come across many ebooks with pics in them?

I just picked up two sales in Amazon Spain. How the hell did that happen?? LOL!
Not that I'm arguing...

Well, speaking of cookbooks, you might want to check this blog post, lol! I just searched for "Bakkian" and there it was!Family Style Meat Rolls [Bak Kian]
Lol! Go figure!
Dude, that pic is disgusting! Thought I was looking at a pic of a smoker's lungs!!

Yeah, I didn't dwell too long on the picture. Not to worry, on the first two pages of search results, only two of them weren't about your books, so you're good.
:-)
Woo-hoo! No more PublishAmerica! They released me!!!!! Hot damn!
Now I can release it from CreateSpace with the cover I want, the interior I want, with as many damn pictures I want in it.
To anyone thinking about using PublishAmerica, pay heed to everyone's advice about them. Don't use 'em. Royalties suck. Prices so high no one buys it. Piss-poor customer service.
I'm so very glad they released me. I was deathly afraid they'd see how well the ebooks were doing and say, nope, not gonna do it. :)

I had wondered why the print book was still showing the old cover. Congrats on getting the freedom to spiff up your book and sell it at a cheaper price. Hold onto a few of the other ones though that way when they make a movie you can sell them for like 50k a piece.
LOL! Like minds think alike! I do have a few copies with that old, ugly cover.
I couldn't figure them out. I had a specially made, specially commissioned illustration for the cover and they said no. I asked them to lower the price to be competitive. They said no.
Water under the bridge. I'm just thrilled that now I can release it the way I want it to appear.

Ok Jeff, same question you asked D.P, if The Prophecy was made into a movie, who would you cast?~Rob
Hmmmm. What a difficult question! Lol! Ok, let's see. If I were to use actors I could theoretically call and book today, I'd use:
Steve - Channing Tatum
Sarah - Anne Hathaway, with the sense of humor from Kaley Cuoco on Big Bang Theory.
Rhenyon - Mads Mikkelsen from Clash of the Titans
King - Josh Duhamel
Queen - Natalie Portman
Mikal - Asa Butterfield (kid from Hugo)

You know, I never would have thought of Mads Mikkelsen for Rhenyon! That's an interesting choice. :)
Even though I didn't care for the hair style he used in Clash of the Titans, he made a great soldier. He'd be perfect!
I know him best from King Arthur, actually, but even as a good guy, he has such a... menacing air. LOL.
He played a wicked s.o.b. in Casino Royale, but I really liked him in Clash.
I had originally envisioned the captain of the guards from the 80s movie LadyHawke (not Rutger Hauer but the black haired dude that gets it at the end), but as soon as I saw the new Clash movie I thought he'd be a perfect Rhenyon.

Hey, it's your book and your character. :) I guess I just more saw him in my head like Joel Edgerton, or maybe Luke Evans.
Joel Edgerton or Luke Evans. Interesting! Will have to look up Luke Evans. Have heard the name but don't remember the face.
Accessing imdb...
Ok. Excellent choices! Luke Evans was in Clash, too. As Apollo. Cool! Yeah, I can see Apollo or a young Uncle Owen as Rhenyon!
Good choices, Mia!

I like Viggo for his demeanor, but not as much his physical presence. But I could see it. :)And thanks. Funnily enough, Edgerton was in King Arthur with... Mads Mikkelson. *g*
Not sure what is going on, and I'm sure as hell not gonna argue, but book 1 is presently at #8 in Amazon US sci-fi! WTF!
Bring it on! I love Fridays!! I should take a screen cap and email that and a pic of my middle finger to PublishAmerica.
My wife says I should let it go... It'd be fun, though. :)

From a new review today on Barnes & Noble...
"I would give this book a four
I haven't read this book yet. But from I have read on the cover it looks to be a great book. The only thing I wish Barnes and Nobel would do is add some other authors like Clive Cussler series, Sherrilyn Kenyon,Richard Castle, Christine Feehan for just a few. All these is the free Nook Book Section."
Openly admits to not reading the book and automatically rates it? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they apparently liked the cover and gave it a four, but to not have even read it??
Hon, pass the Advil... :)

Here's mine:
Bakkian Chronicles, Book I - The Prophecy
Dragons, griffins, and BNPs (Bugs of Nightmarish Proportions). Never in their wildest dreams could they have imagined what was in store for them.
After learning he had inherited an enormous mansion and a huge tract of land from a reclusive set of relatives, Steve Miller, along with his wife Sarah, decide to take a few days off to investigate their new-found fortune in the quiet resort town of Coeur d’Alene in northern Idaho.
While taking inventory of the vast manor, they discover a unique set of doors on the top floor. Mistaking them to be an ornate decoration, the doors are accidentally activated, presenting the two new homeowners with a tantalizing decision: should they or shouldn't they? No harm could possibly befall them by simply walking through an open door. Curiosity getting the better of them, they step through, and both husband and wife are sent on a one-way journey to a land of unimagined wonder!
Realizing they were now stranded on a world populated with creatures that should exist only in one’s imagination, they enlist the aid of the local king and queen. Their troubles continue to escalate, however, as it is revealed their arrival had been long foretold by an ancient local prophecy, bestowing upon them the status of Royal Bodyguards to the young crown prince.
Stuck on a foreign world where mythical creatures abound, trying to avoid being attacked by griffins, and hoping to impress a living, breathing dragon, the newly appointed babysitters must find a way to return home soon before harm could befall the young prince.
Some days it didn't pay to get out of bed.
