Let me start off by saying hello! My name is Shannon I am the blog owner of Confuzzled Books, and Confuzzled Designs. I think a good question to introduce our selves would be... Which royal family do have a passion to read or learn about?

I myself am absolutely addicted to anything about the Romanovs. I even have a old Life Magazine with them on the cover that I got off Ebay.

E.S. Ivy (esivy) | 3 comments Hello there!

Is anyone in this group active?

I just finished To Marry and English Lord which is about the "American royalty rich" that went to Britain in search of titles. I find it fascinating how that altered our history - both possibly averting a war between Britain and the US in the late 1800s and migration's role in WWI and WWII (Winston Churchill's mother was one of those Americans.)

I have The Final Curtsy and some other books on royalty in my to-be-read pile. I mainly read about British royalty but have read some books on Eleanor of Aquitaine, Empress Josephine, and Marie Antoinette.

Hi E.S.!

Welcome to the Group! I am still here. Even though some people joined I have been able to keep there interest. If you have any ideas or want to help. Let me know.

Shannon

E.S. Ivy (esivy) | 3 comments Hi Shannon!

Hmmmm.... I wonder about getting discussions of different royals going. Maybe under some general topics like:
British Monarchy
History of the French Monarchy
Middle Eastern Royals etc.
And ask people to suggest interesting books they have read on the different subjects or specific people? A thread devoted to Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge might get some traffic. :)

Maybe invite discussion on how the royals have influenced history? I've read a lot about royalty informally but I am no means an expert. So I find that when I start to suggest specific topics I shy away from typing anything down!

Oh, maybe you can start a topic on "Nobility in Britain" and some fans on Downtown Abby can comment on the historical accuracy of the series and the historical influence of the British nobility.

E.S.

Lee | 2 comments Good Morning: I just joined. Let's shake the dust off and start reading, royally.

E.S. Ivy (esivy) | 3 comments Hello Lee, I enjoy reading about royalty too! Right now I'm reading Eating Royally. Eating Royally: Recipes and Remembrances from a Palace Kitchen but it's slow going as I am also reading "Killing Kennedy" for a bookclub - which some have called a different kind of royalty!

What are you reading?

Lee | 2 comments Good morning. I am currently reading Plain Jane. It is a present day murder mystery. I did read Killing Kennedy and enjoyed it. I also read Killing Lincoln and was pleasantly surprised. I will keep Riley on my list of authors to read.

I am in love with the Arthurian Legend. I enjoy all perspectives: The Mists of Avalon being on my Annual Reads list.
