Oh of course, it couldn't be the one I already own! Oh well, hopefully I can get it from the library in time. :)
I had already decided to read this one after last month's vote - it's definitely looking good so far.
i loved this book. I bought it back in June. I can't wait to discuss it with the chicks!
I joined PBSwap this weekend, and it's a rockin place! I added 30 books, and I've already mailed 4 & mailing 4 more today !
I cant wait to read this book.... I saw which book it was going to be and happened to look on my dining room table and there it was! It is also on my TBR list! Cant wait!
Wow - I'm catching up! I read the November book and LOVED it - can't wait to chat about it and get to know you girls! I am on the library wait list for the December book...so this is exciting! When do we start chatting about November's book? :)
I'm in. I once started this book but was sidetracked with work. I never picked it back up. Thanks for prompting my inner procrastinator to give it a rest.
I'm in too. Angela, I also started this book and was sidetracked. I am also grateful for the push to read this!
funny thing..idk if this was already mentioned..but Nicole Krauss is married to the author of November's group read Jonathan Foer Safran..i think its funny that we are reading one after the other.
yes, we talked about that in this post! :) I had no idea when I nominated the book. I'm interested to see how History of Love is though after reading the Nov. book because it is so quirky.
I just got history of love out the library yesterday, i have to read it before the end of November though cause Im moving to a new town, new town means new books!
Hi I just joined, and just ordered the book on PBS today. I'm excited about the book club and the book.
When does each monthly discussion usually begin? The date may be posted somewhere, but I am new and didnt know where to look.
I'm not sure yet. I think we're doing a joint discussion with November & December's book, so I would assume sometime in late December? Does anyone know?
We had talked about combining the Nov and Dec discussion. If everyone still wants to do that discussion on Dec's book can start anytime.
A reminder if you start a thread that has spoilers in it please list that in your thread. Something like. Let's talk about History of Love SPOILERS LIKELY just so no one reads a thread before they are ready to jump in to that part of it.

This is not a good month to ask me what ive read. I am in some sort of rut and it's kind of freaking me out. I havent read a single book all month and thats pretty unusual for me since I usually average 3-5 books a month.
I want to read it. I havent yet.
I'm trying to get through One Thousand White Women and there is NO reason why it's taking me so long its actually a good story and I like it but I just havent been in the reading groove.
I'm fighting to get it back though.

Tera, I have that one, too...you can borrow it. Of course, I haven't done any reading in about two weeks now, so I guess I should like read it or something.
I know what you mean. If I don't have a solid good book now (I've been so spoiled with them since GR), I get freaky and weird. And that's on TOP of how I already am, being both PMS-y AND pre-menopausal. It's a BAD combination. Think Wicked Witch of the West meets....oh hell. Meets herself. Think TWO Wicked Witches, complete with flying monkeys, and Toto yowling for his life as she wickedly cackles.UGH
Laura, you are hilarious. Tera, I haven't read for awhile either. I started the "Guardian" on my trip last weekend, and even though it's good I just can't make myself sit and read. There always seems to be something tears me away or disrupts me. And with the holidays coming, it's a lost cause.
I'm going to quit going to the library and just go to Emily's house first.
I don't have the excuse of PMS or premenopausal i was just born sassy. Heaven help my family when i get to pre meno because I don't imagine it will be pretty.
one of the books ive been waiting for at the library just came in so maybe that will get me going again. If that doesnt work I'm just going to count reading the board as reading.

The latest in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, Fearless Fourteen. They are my guilty pleasure. I smoke through the books in a day or so. They are just a fun read and they always make me laugh out loud and so few books do that. They have a bit of language in them but seriously the funniest books ever.
I know, I'm a whack-o, but...I've never been able to get into that series. LOVE Sue Grafton's alphabet series, never was into the # mysteries though.*hides w/armor raised*
I just joined the group today....I like the sound of the December book and I think I'll jump in and read it. I just need to finish Pillars of the Earth first...dang it's taking me forever. Can't wait to read something else.
Are you enjoying it Thauna? I've been wanting to read that one too, but I've been reading another long one for awhile, so not so quick to jump into another.
Hi, all. I'm actually joining in this month! i don't think I've taken part in one of our books yet. terrible, I know.I just got it from the library. I have to finish another book first before I start it.
Just received the book today. I might read it all in one sitting just because I don't have much in the way of school work to do.
I'm to page 70 and don't have an opinion yet either way. I kind of feel like I'm reading November's book (similar style) and hope that it all comes together in the end.
I finished it! It touched me, but at the same time was a bit confusing. It does come together, but I might have to re read it to understand fully.
I'm relatively new to the group, and I was too busy to take part in the November read. So, I'm really looking forward to this one.
Hi Allyson - When you get a chance, you might wanna go back and read Extremely Loud. It was terrific.
*sigh* I'm a bad CoL Book Cluber. This is the first attempt at reading one of the club books, though I have been here for months, and I can't even get past the first chapter! The first sentencse made me laugh so I thought I'd like it but everything after that, all 6 pages I read (bad, I know) seemed so choppy to me. :-(
Oh fiddle dee dee Roxy. It doesn't make you a bad COL'er it makes you a reader. You dont have to read every book every month to be a Chick you just have to enjoy reading and clucking about with the rest of us. I havent read this months book yet. I am a little hesitant to be honest because of the mixed reviews and I have not an ounce of guilt if I don't. (ive been working very hard one what I allow myself to feel guilty about and what I dont and a book just doesnt make the list)
If you dont like it put it down and come chat with us about your favorite place to get hot cocoa.... oh someone should start that thread Im a cocoa junkie!
