Amos Fairchild (amostfairchild) | 12 comments I started a short story once and gave up about halfway though. It was a bit long, had some issues. Years later I got this bright idea that maybe it would make a novel. (I wrote other things in between). So I started on this piece hoping it would have enough to make a novel... It ended up at 1200 pages. Now I have to figure out what to do with it. lol. So far it is looking like a 3 novel series, but I'm still working out the end of novel #2. The premise: A 21st century hairdresser, who left that career, is cloned and wakes up in the 27th century. I think there is a short excerpt on my blog... lemme look. http://amostfairchild.blogspot.com/20...

i once wrote a short story for my school,i think it's good but it's not really original. now,i have so many plots i wanna write but i don't know a time! school! school! school! but i will try it someday,if i have long weekends, not sure though. i'm not a smart writer so make a story works well i think i will need 1 months holidays.
this is about a girl named Sara,on summer she and her family spend weekends in a city. they also will meet sara's step brother for the first time.
i'm too lazy to write the sypnosis.
the point is,before the arrival of brother, she saw a man pushed his friend from a cliff.
when his brother arrived, she recognize his face as the murderer on the cliff so she tried everything to avoid him without telling her parents cause she may be in danger.
in the end,his brother tells her that he didnt kill anyone, they were just playing.
it is so simple, also stupid cause she didnt recognize they were playing at the time-___-

Niel I am actually trying to write about 7 different book but I suck at it so only a page or two is written in each.

Michael (michaeljsullivan) | 15 comments I've written 20 something books and have 5 published and 4 more coming out (1 - Nov, 1 - Dec, 2 - Jan). I made a thread for the series as was suggested. Also, I recently published a free short story for anyone who is interested. It is a prequel to the Riyria Revelations and you can get it free here : Or add it to your good read shelves
The Viscount and the Witch (The Riyria Chronicles Short #1) by Michael J. Sullivan

Michael (michaeljsullivan) | 15 comments Congratz to all the aspiring authors - it's a tough road to follow - but very rewarding if you get to your destination....Write ON!

message 10: by Niel (new)

Niel That is very inspiring.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

YES Thank. I have like the first chapter of my book done. Thinking about posting it here....

message 12: by Malissa (new)

Malissa Kent | 2 comments Writing a novel can take a long time, but if you have a story to tell it'll force itself out eventually. I've been writing an epic Fantasy for 13 years, and it's gone through almost as many iterations. I love my characters, so stopping was never an option...
I've been doing some e-publishing lately, to test the waters. I'll start a thread for my e-books.
Don't give up, aspiring writers! And if you're not a writer, thank you for supporting them by reading!

I wrote a short story for a competition.....it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be >:\

It started like this:

"As the sun rose at the crack of dawn; the people in the town of Crichton looked fearfully up at the sky....

It was a wet, cold and miserable day and all of the citizens in the town of Crichton were bored stiff. Street lights flickered on and off and the usually packed streets were empty........."

Christopher Heath | 2 comments I've been published about 50 times over in the small press, and started up a small epublishing outfit Heathen Oracle (we have an open call for writers for our paying anthology "Artifacts and Relics: Extreme Sorcery"). Check out our website for guidelines. Also looking for reviews for some of our releases (scroll down on home page to see our catalog).

message 41: by J.D. (last edited Jun 10, 2012 04:35PM) (new)

J.D. Hallowell | 2 comments I've written Dragon Fate, a heroic fantasy, and its sequel, Dragon Blade, as well as a third book, whose publication title is yet to be finalized, set in the same universe. I have two other books in that universe that I am working on, and several other books in other settings well underway, some of which are fantasy and some of which are more SF-themed.

Dragon Fate is currently available as an e-book only, but will be out in softcover in July, and Dragon Blade will be released later this summer.

You can read a sample of Dragon Fate at the book page here on Goodreads, or on the Amazon page.

ETA:I just wanted to add that I'll offer a free e-pub or Kindle file review copy to anyone who is willing to write a review of the book.
