I feel like Renesme just ruins everything. All I wanted was for Bella and Edward to be together and their kid ruins it. It makes it too SciFi and causes too many problems for everyone.

Renesme's creepy, and the book didn't mention how Bella is going to explain to Charlie how she's growing so fast....

She explained it by saying she won't explain it. Weird but it worked. Charlie knows somethings differnt but doesn't ask questions and just accepts that things aren't normal.

I like Renesme and the story conflict that revolves around her. I don't think Breaking Dawn would've worked out so well if it was just Cullens vs. Quileute issues again.

I don't know. Maybe it would've been interesting to see where it would go without Renesme in the mix...

I think Reneseme was a plus in Breaking Dawn. The whole, "Bella is Mine!", "No she's mine!", thing was getting old.

I also believe that Reneseme leaves the story open for a new series, which I hope one day we will eventually have.

I didn't like the whole... "I got pregnant by a vamp thing." The writing of it seemed forced and not very thought out. Meyer wanted a "fairytale happy ending." That's what she wrote. No one died. Bella didn't kill anyone in her bloodlust. Jacob imprinted, so he got over Bella in one second. I believe Disney will come out with an animation, at least they won't make it so... uh, perfect.

i wouldn't mind seeing reseme grow up and the love story between her and jacob.

Yeah she kinder surprised us all by not doing all the things the characters said would happen which is annoying... including the fight... so disapointing... i dont hate resemee through, i just think its slightly cruel to just right at the last minute to pair jacob with the next girl he can see... its like SM did'nt want jacob alone so she made bella have a baby (which is not possible) and then make them two love each other...

With how fast Renesmee matures and grows up and how Jacaob explained how imprinting is about being who the other person needs them to be, (babysitter, friend, boyfriend) I don't think it's sick. I can see how anyone would think that so I'm not trying to argue it. Just saying I think that it makes sense. (As much as vampires and shapeshifters can make sense lol)

To me, that child should have never existed, harsh, I know, but its the way I feel. 'Broken Down' was a deal breaker, and I have yet to get over the betrayal.

You guys do know that she had planned for Renesme before Twilight was even published right? (see her website, New Moon Q&A). Renesme was a part of the story even before Jacob was. He was the add in!

And Meyer has always been upfront about being a "happily-ever-after" author. That is just her. No reason to apologize for it or explain it.

Agreed. That person, AlbertaJenn said that SM created Renesmee's character (I still think that name's dumb)even before Twilight was published but still. I don't think she fits. I think it's because the book wasn't written that well to have this character come in sort of at the last minute. If the writing style was maybe... better and maybe if the whole book was written differently? I think Renesmee (still a dumb name) wouldn't have made such an awkward ending. And argh I still can't get over the Jacob and Renesmee thing I honestly think it's gross. Like, having a pedofile uncle gross

I don't care about Renesmee but it is without a doubt to stupidest name I think I've ever seen in any book.

i don't have issues with nessie..i wanted jacob to be happy even though it's a bit creepy that he used to be in love with her mother and now wants her daughter..but i hate the fact that bella says that she loves her more than edward-i understand all the bonding of maternity but i..wanted themn to be "addicted" to each other!!^-^

I do not think SM planned on Renesme before she wrote twilight. There would have been some hint or clue to it... say for instance, it would have been mentioned in passing that vampire children were "taboo"... doesn't matter what it says on her Q&A... those things can be changed accordingly.

Nothing was mentioned before BD. If fact, I distinctly remember Twilight was only supposed to be a trilogy. I guessed that changed when it became mainstream, and was making the publisher lots of money. A lot had changed when it became very popular... for one it lost it's luster (for me anyway).

Do not get me wrong. I love SM. I think she is very talented. Anyone ever wonder why Stephanie hasn't written much since, or why she is not now? She is seriously wasting her talent because of what Twilight put onto her shoulders. My opinion.

It's possible SM is focused more on the movies than writing at the moment. I have to say I think The Host is much better than the Twilight books. I think it's because The Host is more adult.
I'm only hoping in the movie of that book, they cast an actress who has more than one facial expression. I apologize to those who are fans of Kristin Stewart but I think she's like a piece of wood on the screen. Just my opinion.

I think it's the fact that he imprinted on a baby it's kind of creepy. I thought the mention of Quill imprinting on a a 2 year old was kind of creepy. I realize it is made quite evident that they will be waiting until the girls are adults but the heebie jeebie factor is definitely there.

The idea of imprinting was a stupid thing to add, as no previous werewolf lore mentions it, it doesn't add anything to the plot, and it's an all too perfect way to tie Jacob to Bella and give everyone a happily ever after.

Stephenie Meyer admitted to writing a vampire story with absolutely zero knowledge of vampire mythology. Her vamps have a mouth full of fangs, have bodies like rocks and sparkle in the sun. Why would she research werewolf mythology? She was just making everything up as she went along.

RENESMEE! Learn how to spell. That is all.

I feel like a lot of people don't understand what imprinting is. It's not that Jacob thinks that the baby is hot and that he wants to have sexually relations with her. It's like you have a best friend growing up (of opposite gender)and you don't see them in any other way other than just friends, but you still love them and want to protect them. And then all of sudden when you both grow up you realize that you are in love with them. So when Renesmee is a baby Jacob loves her, but when she gets older he's going to be IN love with her. Which are two different things. Plus Jacob even says that he realizes that he was never in love with Bella, he thought that he was and had a strong attraction to her but he realized that it was really that he was going to imprint on her daughter without even knowing it.Is the whole imprinting thing forced and silly? Yes, but that doesn't mean that I at least I know what it actually means, which is not an adult falling in love with a baby.

Initially, I hated Renesmee, but I learned to accept her. I still hate her name, though.

1). How can you hate a non exsisting person?
2). Renesmee totally brings Bella and Edward together, they never thought they couldve had a baby cuz hes a vamp, but technically, Renesmee is like every baby and a miracle to her parents.
3). This really shouldn't be something everyone is arguing over lol

Maggie, have you never disliked a character in a book? Wickham in Pride and Prejudice and Captain Jack Randall in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series are two characters off the top of my head I can say I hate. If I sat down and thought about it, I could name plenty more. I think the sign of a good author is the ability to create characters who inspire strong emotional reactions from their readers. Would I put SM in that category? No but I don't think people 'hate' Renesmee. People who dislike her either still want Bella and Jacob to be together and her birth cemented the bond between Bella and Edward. Or they think the character is way to freakish and creepy.
As I said in earlier posts, I don't care one way or the other about Renesmee but her name is completely stupid. Also, I understand the whole imprinting concept but I still think imprinting on a baby is creepy. And I thought that when I read about Quill being imprinted on a small girl.

imprinting isnt like having sex though, its like, a connection type thing. i never really fully understood it

I love her, I think she makes the book exciting because Jacob and Edward were starting to bore me with all their bitchiness and I absolutely can't stand Bella so the baby is a great distraction for me :)

I disagree I think it makes complete sense for Jacob to imprint on Renesmee, It explains the reason why Jacob was always attracted to Bella in my opinion. She is part vampire she is bound to be a bit weird lol

I just can't finish this book...I just hate where it is going this hole renesme thing...it is just sick and far fetched. I have read 3/4 of the book and have put it down for like 2 years UGG...now I can't find it.

At first i was like... ok baby cool that's cute.
Then Jacob imprinted and I hated her.
Why couldn't he find some WHO ISN'T BELLA'S DAUGHTER???????? It just gave me the feeling that Meyer was like "oh darn, where should I put Jacob??"
I still loved the book. Just not the baby.
But, I guess she needed something to drag the fourth book out.

The reason why I don't really want to watch Breaking Dawn part 2 when it comes out isn't because I didn't like how this saga ended but because I'm terrified to watch Kristen Stewart acting the birth scene. If you thought her nightmare screams for Edward in the New Moon movie were bad... prepare yourself for Kristen's childbirth cries.... oh god my ear are already bleeding...

that's so funny; I actually think she acted the best in those scenes then in the other parts of the movie.
